The Helmet of Salvation – The Helmet of Salvation is all about our deliverance and redemption that is only found in Jesus! We need it because we are all sinners who need saving, and it is only through Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross that we can be saved and protected from the sin in our lives. We are forgiven of our sins, loved and accepted just as we are, and because of Jesus, we have the promise of eternal life. The enemy cannot ever steal that away from us! “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” (Ephesians 6:17)

Die Helm van Verlossing – Die Helm van Verlossing gaan oor ons redding en vrymaking wat ons slegs deur Jesus kan ontvang! Ons het dit nodig omdat ons almal sondaars is wat gered moet word deur Jesus en Sy offer aan die kruis wat ons beskerm teen sonde in ons lewens. Ons is vergewe van ons sondes, geliefd en aanvaar net soos ons is, en as gevolg van Jesus ontvang ons die belofte van ‘n ewige lewe saam met ons Vader God in die Hemel. Die vyand kan dit nooit van ons af steel nie! “En neem aan die helm van verlossing en die swaard van die Gees — dit is die woord van God...” (Efesiërs 6:17)

The Shield of Faith… - Our faith in God, Jesus and the Bible acts as a shield over our lives to cover any doubts or struggles. Faith is believing that Jesus is our Saviour and that we can have eternal life through Him. When Satan throws flaming arrows at us (lies or doubts), we need to know, without doubt, what we believe and why we believe it. God is faithful and trustworthy. The truth of His Word will help us stand firm and victorious in our faith. "In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one". (Ephesians 6:14-16)

Die Skild van Geloof... - Ons geloof in God, Jesus en die Bybel dien as 'n skild oor ons lewens om ons te beskerm teen enige twyfel, sonde of moeilik omstandighede. Geloof is om te glo dat Jesus ons Verlosser is en dat ons deur Hom die ewige lewe kan beërwe. Wanneer Satan vlammende pyle na ons gooi (soos leuens of twyfel), moet ons sonder twyfel weet, wat ons glo en hoekom ons dit glo. God is getrou en die waarheid van Sy Woord sal ons help om standvastig in ons geloof te wees. “Dra onder alle omstandighede die skild van die geloof. Daarmee kan julle al die brandpyle blus wat die Bose afskiet”. (Efesiërs 6:16)

Terwyl ons nadink oor die viering van Paasfees hierdie maand, kom ons dank Jesus, dat Hy ons so lief het, dat Hy aan die kruis gesterf het om ons sondes te vergewe. Kom ons aanvaar Sy uitnodiging om al ons planne aan Hom oor te gee en Hom toe te laat om ons met Sy Heilige Gees te vul, sodat ons ons lewens kan bou volgens God se wil vir ons. “Vader, as U wil, neem tog hierdie lydensbeker van My af weg. Laat nogtans nie my wil nie maar u wil geskied!” (Lukas 22:42)
