Ephesians 6:14-15 (NIV): “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

This month, we are looking at the third piece of the Armour of God: THE SHOES OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE.

In Isaiah 9:6 we are told that Jesus is the Prince of Peace and because Jesus is our friend, He wants to help us walk in God’s perfect peace every day. Here are some tools to enable us to walk in Peace:

Pray – Let us ask God to give us His peace that surpasses our understanding as we walk in faith and put our hope in Jesus.

Share – When we read the Word of God (the gospel of Peace), we fill ourselves with God’s Truth, so we can go out and share the good news with those around us.

Defend – Just like a soldier, we can stand firm by speaking the Truth and living righteously for God.

Serve – When we put on our shoes of peace, we prepare our feet to walk and serve God’s children with love and kindness.

Flee – When we clothe ourselves with shoes of Peace, Jesus gives us the ability to quickly walk away from temptation, sin or anything that can keep us from having a personal relationship with our loving Heavenly Father.

So, let us be ready each day to walk in the gospel of peace – being ready to tell everyone about the hope we have in Jesus and to live righteously before God.

Prayer:

Father God, thank You for providing us with shoes of peace. Help us always walk in a manner worthy of You and share hope, love, and kindness as we serve those around us in peace.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
