The Gift of God's Perfect Peace – Our prayer for you today is: "May our Father in Heaven bless you and your loved ones with an abundance of peace, love and joy during this festive season. May you be aware of His presence as you receive the gift of hope and eternal life by celebrating the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. May your homes be filled with the light of our Lord's unending love, amazing grace and eternal glory!" (John 14:27)
Waiting on the Lord… – Do you ever find yourself spending a large amount of time waiting? It could be waiting physically, such as waiting for a loved one to visit, waiting for a house to sell, waiting for an airplane to land, waiting in traffic or waiting in the check-out line at the grocery store. Or it could be spiritually, waiting on the Lord, wondering if the things we hoped for, even prayed for, will ever come to pass. We sincerely desire that our lives reflect God’s will, but waiting and truly understanding His timing and the different seasons of life can sometimes be so difficult. The good news is that our Lord is the “great I am” and through His Word, He assures us over and over again that He will provide for, bless, and bring hope, life and strength to those who wait on Him and follow His ways. (Isaiah 40:31)
Who is Running with You? – When you reflect on your life, who are the people who run alongside you? Who encourages and supports you, and who carries you to the finish line? Or perhaps, who is the One that gives you the strength to persevere, no matter what? There is only one answer, and that is Jesus. He is the One who can bring healing, change, hope and transformation to our circumstances, search our hearts, and lead us to become who He intended us to be for His glory. Jesus Christ is the King of our hearts, the Saviour of our souls, now and forever. (Isaiah 40:31)
God's Expectations… – We so often worry about what others expect of us… our parents, our spouse, our children, our in-laws, our co-workers, our friends, and even our acquaintances. But how often do we consider what God expects from us? We are probably all familiar with Micah 6:8 (NLT): " O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Let's consider how to live according to God's expectations and His will for our lives – by submitting all to Him, and by seeking Him and His Kingdom first. Let’s allow Him to transform us and those around us as our obedience leads to revival and growth – all for His glory! (Psalm 62:5-8)
Two Sides of the Cross – When we see a replica of the cross, we remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for each of us personally. The cross could remind us of many things. Perhaps it is the moment we asked Jesus to be our Saviour. Maybe it is the promise of heaven, or perhaps the great peace and power it brings to our lives. Maybe it is the people that we know, love and pray for, that don't yet know Him. Most especially, the cross vividly demonstrates God's great love for us, in delivering us from the consequences of sin. It demonstrates the differences between light and darkness, freedom and bondage, life and death. (Isaiah 53:10 & John 3:16)
Who is directing your steps? – Are your steps ordered towards a purposeful destination, or do you sometimes feel like you are wandering aimlessly? Our walk with Jesus is much more than a 'stroll in the park!' It requires listening to His voice and following where He leads. Our steps direct us into great adventures with Jesus, to Divine appointments, and to share the Gospel with those who don't yet know Him personally. Following Jesus opens up the great privilege of crossing paths with others who love Him too. Let us ask our Lord to direct our steps, as we intentionally remain inclined and obedient to His promptings as He guides us daily. (Psalm 37:23-24)
Finding our Way! – May this Easter be a time of finding our way – to experiencing Jesus and becoming more like Him until we spend eternity at home with Him! Let's praise Him for the promise that when we seek Him, we will find Him, and when we find Him, we will experience His unconditional love and overwhelming goodness! Let us still our hearts and minds to listen, obey, trust and surrender to Him – our Rock, our firm Foundation, our Way, our Truth and our Life now and forever! (John 14:6 & Jeremiah 29:13)
A New Way! – Do you ever say to yourself: "If I only had a new way, a new way to live, a new way to love others, a new way to relate to God?" We know that accepting Christ truly gives us a 'new way’. Our gracious God gives us as His people, the directions for a 'new way', 'His way' through His Word. Our faithful God also provided a way for us to become part of His family through His precious Son, Jesus. So no matter what life throws at us, may we stay focused and stand firm, living as people of 'THE WAY'. (Exodus 20:1-17)
Focusing our gaze on God's Faithfulness… – Do you ever have days when your faith waivers, or seems so small that you wonder how our marvellous Lord could even smile when He thinks of you? Take heart! In His Word, God repeatedly tells us about His great faithfulness. As we daily fix our eyes on our Lord and grow in knowing Him more intimately, may we experience His greatness, power, glory, victory and majesty. This will give us the courage to move forward, knowing that for our God, nothing is impossible. (Matthew 21:21)
Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord. May our Christmas tree lights remind us that Jesus is our best gift ever received and the Light of this world. As children of God, may we find happiness and peace, and grow in our relationship with Him every day. Let us be light-bearers for Jesus! When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (John 8:12)
