Who is Directing Your Steps?
Read:
Psalm 37:23-24 (NKJV): “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Remember that with God’s help and guidance, we can walk on the right path! May we commit each of our steps to God as we wait and listen for Him to guide us. May we keep our eyes on Jesus, spend intentional time daily in God’s Word, and above all trust God with all of our hearts. As God’s Word states in Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV), “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” God is faithful and has already predestined our paths, so let us trust His leading – believing that He will make a way even when there seems to be no way. Sometimes, as we look at the lives of others, we become discouraged… ‘Why are they prospering?’ ‘Where is my path leading?’ The Lord knows our thoughts and speaks to us directly about those issues. In Psalm 37:7 (NLT) we learn, “Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.”
Help others stay on the path God has for them. Let’s allow God to break our hearts for what breaks His, and pray specifically for His will to prevail in their lives, for their specific needs, and for faithfulness in their walk with Jesus. May we serve our Lord together, learn from each other and ensure that our faith grows together! Let us always share our spiritual gifts with each other, blessing people through our experiences of God’s faithfulness, all for His glory! As we help them grow in their faith, we will find ours strengthening as well. As we see answered prayers, our own prayer life deepens. God’s Word reminds us in Romans 1:8-12 that as we pray for, and get to know one another, there is great JOY! The amazing part is that we all know the end of the journey… Heaven. We will finally walk with Jesus Himself! How comforting to read in Proverbs 16:11 (NLT), “You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of Your presence, and the pleasures of living with You forever.”
Allow our Lord to direct our steps each and every day. May we continue to encourage, pray for, share with, and love the people the Lord has put on this path with us. May we be willing to surrender all we have into the loving hands of our Father. May we listen to His instructions, trust Him, and stay on the path He has set before us. As we read in Ephesians 3:20-21 (AMP): “Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
Pray:
Heavenly Father, thank you that we are all members of Your body and that each one has been given gifts and graces that are to be used appropriately. Help us to live according to Your Word and to use our gifts and graces for the mutual encouragement of our brothers and sisters in Christ. May we all grow in His grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus. As we see the day, and wait for the day He returns, help us to grow closer to Him and closer to one another. This I ask for Your praise and glory, in Jesus’ name.
Lord, I pray Holy Spirit, would you come and give us joy for building the Kingdom? Lord, I want to thank You for those who already share that joy for building the Kingdom. If there is anybody that does not have that yet, give them that revelation of what breaks Your heart, Lord Jesus, so that it will automatically flow through them. I pray that we will be like farmers during harvest season. Their hands are dirty, they get up early, they are tired, but they celebrate because they can see the harvest coming in. I pray that we will be like that as well. In the name of Jesus.
Our Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the precious name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You are giving us arrows to follow. Sometimes they are not clear and we get lost, but You always bring us back. I want to ask You Lord, that You will prompt us when we need to stop, when we have lost our way, or if the way is unclear and we are uncertain about which path to take. Lead us and guide us. As Your Word says, help us to trust in You – to not lean on our own understanding or our own thoughts, anxieties, fears and pre-conceived ideas. We don’t depend on our own logic or thinking, but we trust in what You and Your promises over us say. We thank You Lord for Your love. Thank You for guiding us and leading us. Thank You Lord that we are never alone. We want to trust in You Lord. Help us. We love You Lord. I pray this in the precious name of Jesus Christ.
Father, forgive us for so often missing opportunities, because we have human excuses. Lord, help us to believe You, to believe in You, and to trust You, so that we are ready to take risks and obey You unconditionally. Lord, we don’t want this to be something that we hear today and forget again. Let it be something that we really think about it, so that we can obey when You are speaking to us. In the end, this is not about us. This is all about You. It is all to exalt You, to glorify You, to make Your name great among people. Will You please help us. In Jesus’ Name.
Thank You that we know that You are with us and that You will guide us and help us. That You will strengthen us daily and make a way for us. Lord, we praise your Holy name. Amen.
