Who is Running with You?
Read:
Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV): ‘But those who wait on the Lord, shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to remember there is no One like Jesus. So may we realise that:
We are not alone in our struggles, and the Lord has given us many scriptures to comfort and strengthen us. Whether we are running or walking, we can find guidance and support in His teachings and instructions – in His living Word. As we trust in the Lord with all our hearts and submit to His will, He promises to make our paths straight. Our devotion to Him should be complete and unwavering, as He desires us to be fully committed to His ways.
We can trust in our Lord with all of our hearts, whether we are facing big or small challenges in this world. Even if our hearts are filled with fear, anxiety and worry, or with joy and peace, we should wait on our Lord and trust Him completely for the perfect outcome according to His will, love, grace and mercy. He wants us to trust Him at all times because at the core of our lives is trust – resting in the knowledge that we can rely on someone Who is greater than us. Someone Who can direct our steps and remove all the obstacles in our way. And we should always remember that trust is fuelled by love. Jesus is love.
As we face hardships, struggles and doubts, it’s important to bring them to our Lord. By doing so, we can see these challenges as opportunities for growth and purification, bringing us closer to God. We should approach our Lord with humility, acknowledging our dependence on His wisdom and grace. Let us surrender our own understanding and trust in His divine plan for our lives and the lives of our loved ones.
Getting caught up in life may hinder us from seeing and listening to what our Lord is saying to us, it may steal joy from our lives. May we remember the most important part of life, finding hope, peace and joy is spending time in the presence of our Heavenly Father – experiencing His love, grace and faithfulness. In living for Jesus, no matter what we are going through, may our hearts and minds be steadfast in pursuit of our Lord! Jesus is truly all we need, now and forever! Bringing Him glory in everything we do! Surrendering all to Him because apart from God we can do nothing! Abiding in Jesus and remaining in Him helps us bear Kingdom fruit! May our gracious Lord forgive our sins, and teach us to be vessels of hope and life to those around us, as we are together, on this journey to become more and more like Him each day! Running our race – the race our Lord has set before us – may we regularly engage in prayer, read God’s Word, believe and trust our Lord and rely on our Saviour.
As we worship our Heavenly Father together this day, may we always remember that running with God, is running for His glory, with His help, now and forevermore! With our last breath in this world may we proclaim, “Lord I have fought the good and worthy and noble fight, I have finished the race, today I long to trust You wholeheartedly. I surrender my fears, doubts, anxious thoughts and impatience to You. Only You can lead us to find peace in Your presence, strength in Your grace, and guidance in Your wisdom.”
Pray:
Thank You so much, Lord, for this time together, that we can come together in fellowship, and where we’re once again reminded of what a faithful God You are. Thank You that we can trust You with all of our hearts, in all circumstances whether big, small, challenging, or desperate. We know that You are trustworthy. We are weak, Lord, and we really like to take things into our own control, but may we entrust all things to You, with all of our hearts and acknowledge You in all our ways. We pray this in Your precious name.
Lord Jesus, it is my prayer that You will help each one of us not just to identify the obstacles and turn them into prayer requests, because You remind us in Ephesians 3 that my God is able to do abundantly more than what we can dream or imagine, but it is also my prayer that if there’s any altar of our hearts before You that have been left in disrepair, that is broken down, that You will help us to take all 12 stones to repair it in unity and in love. So that, Father God, we can be not just running on our own, that we can be not just working in vain, but that we will have this testimony that the Lord has built the house, the Lord has helped me to repair my altar and identify my idols. In the name of Jesus, we pray for restoration and wholeness. In the name of Christ.
Lord, thank You for the assurance that You will never forget us, despite our lack of faith. Our memories are sometimes so short about Your goodness and how You’ve cared for us and how You brought us out of Egypt and sin and saved us. Lord, we want to honour Your name for Your goodness. Lord, we want to ask forgiveness for where our faith is lacking going forward. And we pray this in the name of Jesus.
Dear Lord Jesus, we thank You that You love us just as we are, Father God. We thank You, Lord, that in You we can find wisdom and knowledge and understanding that is far greater than our capacity, Father. We pray, Lord, that You teach us to number our days, Father. We pray that You help us to bring You glory each and every day all the way to our very, very last day. Father God, we pray that we would be righteous and that we would be actually wonderful image bearers and that we will also know, Father God, when it is time to push a pause button and reset and reground and spend time with You. Father, so that we can go out into this world and be a true love and a true light to others. In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, please forgive us for the times that we ran against You, for the times that we didn’t answer the call to run with You. Thank You, Lord, that You will renew our strength so that we can run and not grow weary. Thank You for strengthening us so that we will be able to run this race with endurance and to Your honour and glory. We worship You, Lord, and bring praise and glory to You our Lord and Heavenly Father. Amen.
