Becoming More Like Jesus! – In our desire to be more like the God who created us, reflecting His compassion, love and hope in this world, we often say, "Yes, Lord, do whatever it takes. Here I am! Mould me and form me into all You created me to be." Yet, we sometimes overlook that this journey to becoming more Christ-like involves pruning and refining – a challenging process for sure, but one that yields indescribable beauty and purpose. (John 15:1-4)
Faith in Action… – In life, our faith and actions are inseparably linked, and together, they shape our journey. Faith provides the foundation and belief in Someone greater than ourselves, assuring us that there's a plan beyond our understanding and current struggles. However, faith alone is not enough. Our actions bring our faith to life and demonstrate its power and relevance in our daily lives. Just like a coin has two sides, our faith inspires our actions, and our actions reflect our unwavering faith in the only One that brings life, love, light and hope into this world. (1 John 3:18)
Be Still and Know… – Do you ever feel like you are surrounded by storms, with the challenges of life raging around you? Amidst a physical storm encountered by Jesus and His disciples, He calmly responded by rebuking the wind and saying to the sea, ‘Peace be still!’ May we remember that difficult life situations can serve as a training ground for growth, restoration, healing and peace. Just as oysters transform grit into pearls, our trials can also be turned into precious treasures. (Psalm 46:10 & Isaiah 30:15)
Being God's Masterpiece – His Prized Possession! – Do you ever struggle with life's most fundamental questions, such as the purpose of our existence and why we are here? Do you sometimes feel unworthy or not good enough, especially when society measures our worth based on worldly standards? It's crucial to remember that we're not alone. Amidst all these uncertainties, let us stop and recognize the profound truth that God created us out of His endless love. You are not a mistake. You are His masterpiece, fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. You are His most precious possession, set apart for a greater plan and purpose – all for His glory! (James 1:18 & Ephesians 2:10)
Embracing Change and Trusting in God's Guidance! – Have you ever found yourself settling into a comfortable routine, only to have unexpected changes disrupt your plans? These moments remind us that God is the ultimate author of our lives, and we can trust Him to guide us through life's transitions. Let's embrace changing seasons as opportunities for growth and refinement, becoming more and more like Jesus with each passing day. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Recommitting our lives to Jesus, having Faith and Believing again! – Do you ever question your faith or your relationship with God? Do you ever doubt if God is faithful and is who He says He is? Let us not only recall what He has done for us before, but recognise His ongoing work in our lives and the lives of others. How wonderful that we have His Word to meditate upon, knowing it's not just a list of do's and don'ts, but a testimony of His intricate involvement, goodness and grace in our lives. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Glorifying our Father in Heaven in all we do! – Have you ever wondered about the reason for your existence in this world, at this specific time and place? God not only created this earth and all its inhabitants, but He also continues to take care of us and provide for our needs. In light of His constant love, grace and goodness, what do you believe is His purpose for each of us? The Bible, God's instruction manual, consistently reminds us that our lives are meant to glorify Him in all we do and reveal His nature and character to the world, so that no one will have any excuse for not knowing and honouring our Lord. (Matthew 5:14-16)
A New Way! – Do you ever feel like you need a fresh start in life? This feeling usually arises when we realise that unexpected events have led us astray from our envisioned path. It could be related to our careers, relationships, health, finances, dreams, or other aspects of our lives. However, longing for a new beginning doesn't mean we have failed. Instead, it is an acknowledgement that growth and transformation are essential aspects of our life's journey. So may we turn to God first – knowing that for Him, nothing is impossible, He is faithful, and He can create a new way out of what seems to be dead or impossible. So, let us embrace the infinite possibilities that lie ahead as we walk, together with our Lord and the help of Godly mentors, towards a brighter future. (Isaiah 43:19)
Whatever comes next, we will praise our Lord! – In this world, we are bound to face unexpected challenges, injustice, wars, health issues, difficult decisions, evil and hurt. However, no matter what comes next, let us always respond by praising our Lord because He is good, loving and faithful. Our Heavenly Father is the only constant in our lives, and His truth propels us to embrace a Kingdom mindset, find hope and experience joy. Furthermore, we don't have to go through life alone; our Lord blesses us with a community of believers from whom we can draw strength and learn from their experiences. His grace ignites us with His divine plan and purpose for our lives so that we can earnestly praise Him through each and every situation and share His transformative love with the world around us. (Psalm 100:1-3)
Joyful Hope! – Do you ever feel there is no hope or find yourself in a difficult situation that makes it hard to believe that anything can change? Take heart, because with Jesus, all things are possible! In His presence, we find life even when our lives seem complicated and our circumstances overwhelming. So, instead of being anxious and worried, let’s find comfort in the fact that Jesus has already overcome the world and all its troubles and be filled with hope, joy and gratitude towards our Lord. (Philippians 4:6-8)
