Filled with light…

Read:

Matthew 6:22-23 (MSG): “Your eyes are windows into your body. If you open your eyes wide in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar. If you pull the blinds on your windows, what a dark life you will have!”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Open our eyes wide in wonder and believe. Let’s never grow over-familiar with our Father God’s provision, love and miracle-working power in our lives. Let’s keep our eyes wide open to the wonder of the Gospel – to God’s work of grace and mercy in our lives. Let’s pay attention to live our lives in God-reality – based on God’s will and in the light. Let’s pile up treasures in heaven, keeping our eyes focussed on Jesus. Because of Jesus, we are no longer slaves to darkness, bondage, sin or shame; we are Children of God – Children of light!

Be constantly filled with Light. Let’s pull up the blinds of our windows – let’s keep our hearts unclouded with worldly things; so that light can permeate and brighten our lives. Let’s allow Jesus to take ownership of our lives. Let’s allow God to fill us with His Spirit. Let’s allow Jesus’ love and light to fill us to the point of overflowing. Let’s trust God to help us deal with whatever it is that is keeping us in darkness.

Pray:

Father God, open the eyes of our spirit to allow Your revelation-light to enter our beings. Keep our hearts uncluttered and undistracted from worldly-treasures. Father, keep us from the bondage of darkness. Jesus let Your light of truth fill our hearts – for its only Your truth that sets us free. May we shine Your light, Your God-colours, to bring hope and visibility in darkness! All for Your glory. Amen.
