I am Who I am

Psalm 5:11 (AMP): “But let all who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice, let them ever sing for joy; because You cover and shelter them, let those who love Your name be joyful and exult in You”.

Let us be determined this week to:

Devote ourselves to truly get to know our Father God. Our Lord gloriously and graciously reveals himself to us through His names. It’s by calling our Heavenly Father’s name, that we get to speak to Him. Do you know God by name? Let’s embark on a mission to study God’s names; to ask Him to reveal Himself to us in new and fresh ways. Let’s be devoted to know Him more; as love and trust are only built through relationship.

Call on the name of our Lord. Whether it is to give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, mercy, provision and protection; or to cry out for help – let’s frequently and fervently call on the name of our Lord. Because He promised, that when we call on Him name, He is near. (Jeremiah 29:12; Psalm 91:15; Jeremiah 33:3)

Praise and worship God, for it’s His name that covers us. God’s name is our place of protection. It’s where we can run to and be safe (Proverbs 18:10). It’s through His name that we are saved (Psalm 54:1). And it’s in His name that we find our hope (Psalm 52:9).

Live as children of God, with His name written over us. The name of God is equivalent to His gracious presence. The place where God puts His name is the place where He chooses to dwell. As children of God, we are given His name, which means He dwells within us. We can therefore walk in confidence, as our Lord is with us each step of the way.

Thank You Father God, that we are called Your children. Thank You that we can depend on You for everything. Your wonderful works declare that Your Name is near! Our hearts brim with joy, for You are Holy. Thank You for loving us. We want to know You more. We are humbled that You would choose to dwell within us. How awesome to be in Your presence. Thank You that because You are near, we are safe. We walk in confidence and rejoice in the hope that lives inside us. We bring all honour and glory to Your mighty and glorious name. Amen.
