Embracing life

Read:

Psalm 8:5-6 (NIV): “You have made them a little lower than the angels [or than God] and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet…”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Discover, embrace and delight in the beauty of God’s divine design for mankind. We were fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of our Father (Psalm 139:13-16). He has a perfect plan for our lives and He longs for an intimate relationship with each one of us (Jeremiah 29:11-13). Let’s spend time with our Lord and in His Word, let’s ask Him to lead us in becoming all He created us to be.

Spend quality time with others. Let’s learn from one another. Let’s discover new truths and embrace different perspectives. Let’s pass on Biblical truths and what we’ve learned to those around us – especially to the next generation.

Embrace a life that adds value. Our lives can tell a story of significance, a story where our Lord is glorified, and a story which causes the lives of those around us to be transformed and improved. This however, is only possible when we put God first in everything, allowing Jesus to lead and direct our every step.  It requires that we depend on the Holy Spirit’s wisdom and strength in all we do.

Pray:

O Lord our God, the majesty and glory of Your name fills the earth and overflows from heaven. We stand in awe of Your wonderful creation, Your marvellous design for each one of us, and Your perfect plan for our lives. Please help us to be intentional about a God-first life and pursuing Your will and glory in all we do. Help us to embrace a life where character, perspective, attitude and time matters, so that we can add value and play our part in advancing Your kingdom. We want to be all You created us to be – all for Your glory! Amen.
