Growing through our suffering

Read:

Hebrews 5:8 (AMP): “Although He was a Son [who had never been disobedient to the Father], He learned [active, special] obedience through what He suffered”.

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Learn from our past experiences. God teaches us through our circumstances. Let’s take a minute and reflect on what we have learned from past difficulties, suffering or hardships… (James 1)

Persevere through pain and difficulty by fixing our eyes on Jesus. To grow, we need to persevere. We need to be steadfast. We need to grow our inner strength through being patient. It’s like running a long-distance race at a steady, patient pace. Sprinting will probably leave us exhausted before we reach the finish line. (Hebrews 12:1-3)

Quietly wait and trust our amazing Lord. Trust and confidence are built one experience and one opportunity at a time. God is educating us and training us. He wants the best for us, so that we can become who he designed us to be. (James 1:12 and Romans 8: 28-30)

Grow in faith and our relationship with our Father God. Having an intimate relationship with our Father means trusting Him completely; and aligning ourselves with His will and perfect plan for our lives.

Pray:

Father God, we praise Your holy name. You are glorious, majestic, trustworthy, compassionate and awesome. Help us to not grow weary, but to regard trials and tribulations as growth opportunities. Jesus, we look to You for guidance and strength to persevere. Keep us from doubting that you are faithful. Help us to stay on course, to run the race well, and to finish with excellence, all for the glory of Your Name!! Today we declare: “We will persevere so that when we have done Your will, God, we will receive what You have promised” (Hebrews 10:36). Amen.
