Victorious living…
Read:
1 John 5:4 (AMP): “For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world – our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God]”.
Act:
Living victoriously implies having conquered in battle or contest; having overcome an enemy.
What battle are you currently fighting? What lies or attacks from the enemy are making you feel defeated, not good enough, hopeless, unhappy or fearful?
What is keeping you from living a victorious life?
Let us be determined this week to:
Live our lives, BY FAITH, in total SURRENDER to God. God’s greatest act of love towards us, sending Jesus to save and redeem us, gave us the right to become children of God. Believing that Jesus is Lord and Saviour over our lives causes us to be spiritually transformed, filled with God’s Spirit, renewed, and set apart for God’s purposes (1 John 5:1-2). This is the FAITH and HOPE that we live by. But victorious living also involves OBEDIENCE. God’s grace and His example of unconditional love empower us to love and obey Him. Having our hearts filled with passionate love and awe toward our Father motivates us to put Him first in our lives, to surrender all to Him, to delight in His Word (the only Truth) and to follow His direction for our lives (1 John 5:3-4). This is the pathway to victorious living!
Conquer and overcome the world. To live victoriously we need to conquer the battles of our flesh, the fear that keeps us in bondage, the troubles and hardships that cripple us, the wrongs of others that leave us hopeless, and the lies that lead toward death rather than eternal life! We need to accept God’s greatest gift, Jesus, and allow Him to deal with the hurt in our lives, so that our battle scars are no longer a painful reminder of the past, but rather a sign towards God’s goodness, faithfulness, love and grace!
Pray:
Father God, thank You that we can live victorious lives because of Jesus. God, thank You that we can trust You our Father, Jesus Christ our Saviour, and Your Holy Spirit living inside of us to help us to navigate through life. We no longer want to live fearful, defeated lives. We want to exchange our pain and the lies that have kept us in bondage for happiness, fruitfulness and victory in Christ. We cannot do it on our own – we need Your help and guidance. Father, we surrender all to You! Now, lead us on Your pre-destined path to live victorious lives that glorify You!
Amen.
