The hall of faith…

Read:

Hebrews 11:1-2 (MSG): “The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd”.

Act:

Hebrews 11 not only helps us to better understand what FAITH means, it also gives us an account of the amazing faith-filled men and women that went before us. (Side note: Please read through Hebrews 11 if you have a chance this week and ask God to strengthen your faith as you learn more from the lives of our incredible ancestors). FAITH is described by words such as: Trust, belief, confidence, conviction, reliance, dependence; optimism, hope, expectation…

Let us be determined this week to:

Strengthen our faith. FAITH is the foundation of our Christian lives, and its outcome is a life built on trusting God. It’s what set us apart as God’s called children; it’s what motivates us to live intentional fruitful lives; it’s what causes us to hope, dream and expect the best regardless of our circumstances; and it’s what helps us to stay focused and to live according to the plan and purpose God has for us. Our FAITH is built upon the hope we find in and through Jesus. Hope manifests through God-inspired vision and dreams – seeing the unseen; believing for bigger and greater things to come; holding on to God’s promises; believing that nothing is impossible for God; and asking for and expecting miracles. Let’s be filled with FAITH and expectation that God is in the right-now and He will be in our tomorrow, as He was in our yesterday.

Confidently trust our Lord. FAITH is built on the assurance that God’s promises are true – believing that He will do what He said He will do. It’s being optimistic, and believing that we serve a God Who is greater than any circumstance, challenge or problem we may face. It’s asking Jesus to help us walk in His way, so that based on FAITH and perseverance, the outputs of our lives would be an abundance of Kingdom fruit.

Pray:

Father God, give us bold and strong FAITH, to trust that You are in control of all that is seen as well as unseen. Father, thank You that Your Word will never fail us, and that You fulfill all your promises. Jesus, help us to look away from all that distracts us and focus our eyes on You – the Author and Perfecter of our FAITH. Thank You that You are the incentive for our belief and the One who brings our FAITH to maturity. Thank You that through the endurance of the cross, everything is complete in You – that we now have hope and access to the throne room of our Father. (Paraphrased Hebrew 12:2) May our testimonies of FAITH bring glory to Your name. May our trust in You be so unwavering, that our names will be written in Your “HALL OF FAITH”!
Amen.
