Building a Wall of Faith: Let every stone of remembrance strengthen our faith in the God who never changes
Read:
Joshua 4:6–7 (NIV): “In the future, when your children ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord… These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever.”
Hebrews 13:8 (NIV): “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Psalm 77:11–12 (NIV): “I will remember the deeds of the Lord… I will consider all Your works and meditate on all Your mighty deeds.”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Pray:
Father God, today, we remember. Not because we want to live in yesterday, but because we refuse to enter tomorrow forgetting Who You are. Thank You for every stone of remembrance. Every prayer answered. Every provision. Every protection. Every closed door that became mercy. Every wilderness where You sustained us. Every valley where Your presence held us. And even for those places we still do not understand, You have remained faithful.
Lord, forgive us when today’s problem becomes louder than yesterday’s testimony. Teach us to remember well. Stone upon stone. Truth upon truth. Testimony upon testimony. Build within us a wall of faith. Not faith in outcomes. Not faith in our own strength. Not even faith in our ability to understand. But unwavering confidence in You—our faithful, unchanging, loving, all-knowing God. And above every other remembrance, keep our eyes on You, Jesus. When everything else becomes uncertain, take us back to the cross. Back to the empty tomb. Back to the unchanging truth: You are Lord.
May every testimony we carry point others to You. May the generations coming behind us look at the stones of our lives and know: God is faithful.
All glory and honour belong to You.
In Your precious Name, Jesus,
Amen.
Remember: A stone remembers a moment. A wall remembers a lifetime. So let us gather the stones. The places where grace found us. Where mercy carried us. Where provision surprised us. Where God’s presence became more precious than the answer we were waiting for. And let us build. Stone upon stone. Promise upon promise. Testimony upon testimony. Until fear looks at the wall and discovers—it is not speaking to someone who has forgotten. We remember. We remember the wilderness. We remember the Jordan. We remember the provision. But above all—we remember Jesus. We will place our confidence in Who He has always been. Faithful then. Faithful now. Faithful forever. **So let us gather the stones. Build the wall. And when the next storm comes—stand on what we know about our God.**
He has not changed.
