God is our source of Life!

Read:

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (AMP): “Blessed [with spiritual security] is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord. And whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord. For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters, that spreads out its roots by the river; and will not fear the heat when it comes; but its leaves will be green and moist. And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought nor stop bearing fruit”.

Act:

Let’s believe wholeheartedly that God is OUR SOURCE OF LIFE:

Our Heavenly Father gave us a blueprint (plan) for a happy, content and fulfilled life that overflows with His goodness and love. A life well nourished, steadfast, and well rooted… A life that will grow, mature and produce fruit for His Kingdom. The plan is simple:
God is our source of Life – the one who nurtures, cares for, loves and protects us!
We need to trust, believe and rely on Him as our source of Life. So, let’s lay our roots down (deeply and firmly established in Him), to receive His living water and nourishment. The more connected we are (deeper our roots are), the more stable we will be and the more fruit we will bear.

Let us be determined to STAY CONNECTED:

Firstly, CONNECTED to our FATHER IN HEAVEN. Let’s never allow any priority to become greater than spending time with our Father. Let’s seek Him first and above all else (Hebrews 11:6; Jeremiah 29:13). As David reminds us in Psalm 1: Those who delight in the Lord, the ones who examine, experience and evaluate His Word, will produce a harvest in due season. Let’s seek God’s will and wisdom and make that our guide for life! Then, as our scripture for this week promises us, the winds of life can blow all they like, and the storms can rage against us, BUT we will stand firmly on our Rock – sheltered in the presence of our Father. We will be nourished, well looked after, ever-green, and we will walk in the counsel of the Lord. We will stand in His authority, grace and love and be seated at the right hand of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour (John 15:5-8).

Secondly, CONNECTED to EACH OTHER. There is truly power in doing life together – in oneness. God created us as relational beings. We long for communion and relationships. Paul said it so beautifully in Ephesians 4:4-6 (MSG): “You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly. You have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all. Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness”. Let’s take hands and walk life’s journey together! Let’s be “trees” that stand firm based on “God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of our lives. Trees that are never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous…” (Psalm 1:1-3).

Let’s stay CONNECTED and EMBRACE a God-first, Christ-led and Holy Spirit-inspired life that glorifies God and advances His Kingdom. Let’s be committed to learn and grow closer to our dependably steady, gracious, hope- and life-giving, and warmly personal Father God, and also to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Let’s allow the Holy Spirit to work mightily in and through our lives. And let’s together shine our lights so brightly, proclaiming HOPE and LIFE wherever we GO! SHINING for Jesus – being “well planted, fruitful trees!”

Pray:

Heavenly Father, help us to stay connected. Firstly, to You – our source of Life! Our heart’s desire is to seek You above all else – to be fruit-bearing branches, yielding to Your will, and maturing in the rich experience of knowing You and becoming all You created us to be (Colossians 1:10). Father, nurture us and bless us with streams of Living water; so that the fruit that we produce within and through You will nourish those around us. Help us to bear fruit of “divine love in all its varied expressions, joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit” (Galatians 5:22-2). Lord, we praise Your holy and wonderful Name. Amen.
