The Weight of Our Words—When Words Become Worship! – Thomas Merton wrote, “Our words are meant to be seeds, not stones.” Words hold power. They can plant life, or crush the spirit. They can stir healing, or ignite harm. Sometimes, the most compassionate thing we can say... is nothing at all. Silence, when born of love and not avoidance, becomes sacred ground. It makes room for presence, listening, and discernment. It teaches us to speak from love, not ego—to offer words shaped by grace, not reaction. In Jewish tradition, words are holy. God spoke creation into being. To speak, then, is to echo His creative power. Our speech is never trivial—it carries the weight of life or death (Proverbs 18:21). And before our words reach others, they reverberate through our own souls. (James 3:5–10)
Embracing the Journey of Healing – Healing is not a final destination, but a lifelong journey—one that continues until the day we stand before our Lord in Heaven. Along the way, we experience seasons of growth, moments of struggle, and glimpses of God’s grace, all reminding us that He is always at work within us. Though complete healing may not come in this lifetime, we can trust that God is guiding each step—shaping us, strengthening us, and drawing us closer to His heart. He sees what we cannot. In our weakness, His grace is enough, and His power is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9). When we come to the end of ourselves and fully surrender, His name is glorified. After all, God is far more interested in shaping our character than simply changing our circumstances. (Isaiah 60:22, Psalm 147:3 & Exodus 14:14)
A Spirit-filled Life! – A.W. Tozer once said, “The Spirit-filled life is not a special, deluxe edition of Christianity. It is part and parcel of the total plan of God for His people.” A Spirit-filled life is not a special privilege reserved only for a select few. The Holy Spirit is God’s precious gift to every believer. He dwells within us, empowers us, and guides us. Living a Spirit-filled life is essential to our faith and enables us to reflect and glorify Christ and fulfil God’s plan and purpose for our lives. Through the Holy Spirit, we are not only strengthened but equipped and empowered to share the hope that is within us! (John 16:7, John 14:26 & Acts 1:8)
Filled with awe! – I'm sure you have been challenged at one time or another to be filled with 'faith' and not with 'fear'. But what exactly does that mean? Today, let's consider what 'fear' is in our lives, and how we can be filled with faith… that awe and respect for God that indeed transcends understanding. This foundation helps us to be constantly filled with absolute awe towards our Lord. As a result, we are able to seek and find His tender grace towards us, and we experience the richness of His power and love in every situation. (1 John 4:18, Psalm 33:8 and Acts 2:43)
Yes Lord – No buts… - My prayer for us today is that we will have a fresh encounter with Jesus, in order to build our faith and trust in the One Who is our rock and solid foundation. May we surrender everything to our Heavenly Father, our Provider. He has graciously gifted us with all the talent and ability we need to follow His call on our lives. Let’s not lean on our own strength or worldly perspectives, but rather follow the Holy Spirit’s direction! May we stop to look and see the needs around us; and may we surrender every aspect of our lives to our ever-present, Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6)
Take heart! - This season, I believe for all of us, has been one of being intentional about growing in Christ. Maybe we have found time to reconnect with God more often, or possibly we are more aware of His presence in our lives, or we are spending more time in His Word... No matter how our faith has been stirred, let us continually strive to put aside our old ways and our own will, so that we can grow deeper in trusting God, and fixing our eyes on the eternal hope and glory that lie before us! (2 Corinthians 4:7-9 and 16-18)
