Yes Lord – No Buts…
Read:
Zechariah 4:6 (NIV): “So He said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: `Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty’.”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to declare: “Yes Lord! Full stop – without any BUTs…”
We learn in Hebrews 11:1 that: “Faith is being SURE of what we HOPE for and CERTAIN of what we DO NOT SEE”. Do we walk confidently in this understanding? How often do we allow doubt to consume our thoughts? This puts us in danger of walking away from our calling and who God created us to be. If He called us, He will equip us. God will strengthen us through His Spirit and give us everything we need to glorify Him in all we do.
So, may we:
Simply TRUST God as our Provider;
Choose to rely on our Author and the perfector of our Faith;
Step aside from our selfish perspectives, to listen for and recognize God’s voice and promptings. Let’s be bold, step out, and apply the gifts and talents that God has given us… not in our own strength or might; but through faith;
Make wise and intentional choices daily: Seeking God over and above the culture of our day (Matthew 6:33-34); Being open to His voice and being obedient to act on what He imprints on our hearts. Let’s be found on our knees, surrendering all and crying out for God’s will to be done, and for His love and grace to be bestowed on those around us. Let’s humble ourselves before Him and ask for His forgiveness, so that we may be cleansed by the blood of Jesus, and shine His light and beauty wherever we go;
Have eyes to see and ears to hear what God is showing us. May we be ready to STOP, FOCUS, and ALLOW the Holy Spirit to work mightily in and through us to minister to those around us; and
Become more aware of God’s presence in our lives. He is always with us; He is faithful; and He loves us unconditionally.
All glory to our King of kings!
Pray:
Our dear Author and finisher of our faith, – Abba Father, and Holy Spirit – we just want to come and fall before You. We have paid too much attention to the ‘faith-breakers’ in our lives. Father, we want to thank You for the miracles that You have provided in our lives to build our faith. Thank You that Your grace was not dependent on our faith. Today we want to ask You to help us build our faith not on what we see, not on what we hear, and not what we experience. Let our faith be built on You alone. We don’t want to say ‘Yes Lord, BUT…’ any longer. We want to say, ‘Because of Jesus Christ we stand!’ (Zilke)
Heavenly Father, thank You for every gift that You have given each and every one of us. Lord, we know that every good thing comes from You. I want to pray today that You will help us – that You will help our hearts to stay focused on You. May it never be about what is in my hand or what I have or what I don’t have; may it rather be about You! Lord I pray for each person that feels overwhelmed by what life currently holds for them. I pray that Your Spirit will remind us that it’s because of You, it’s not anything that we hold in our hands. I pray that You remind everyone today that it’s not by might, it’s not by power, but that it’s by Your Spirit. Thank You Father that we can rely on You and trust in You. (Heinz)
Lord, we thank You for this time to reflect and think about You. We thank You for Your Word, and we thank You for Your voice. We can distinguish it from the noise of the world so that we can tune into You and You can direct our steps daily. I pray that You would speak into the hearts of whoever this message may reach – that You would be attentive to them and they would be attentive to You. I pray that You will direct their steps today. (Ryniel)
Thank You God that you are doing everything to bring glory to Your name; and that You were gracious enough to allow us to be a part of Your story. Thank you for being willing to include us in this story that glorifies You and exalts You even more. May we become more aware of Your presence and may we glorify You in everything that we do. Thank You for Your goodness, Your grace and Your glory. (Willem)
Father God, help us to shift our focus to You today, and every day. We don’t want to bypass our problems, our fears or those who may need our help. We want to STOP and BE STILL and KNOW that You are in control. Our heart’s desire is to SURRENDER everything to You. Thank you for fellowship and family in Christ. Thank you that we do not have to do life on our own; but that You place others around us who can walk alongside us. Father God, please fill us afresh with Your Spirit, with Your power and with Your strength today; so that in and through You, we will be able to do all you have called us to do. We love You; we honour You and we pray this, Jesus, in Your mighty name. Amen. (Michelle)
Amen.
(This WRAP is with great appreciation towards Zilke, Heinz, Ryniel, Michelle and Willem)
