On the winning side…

Read:

Galatians 5:1 (NKJV): “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage”.

Act:

There is an epic battle raging between good and evil; love and hate; truth and lies; freedom and bondage; peace and fear; happiness and hopelessness; and light and darkness (Ephesians 6:11-12; Colossians 2:15; I Timothy 1:18; 2 Corinthians 10:4).

Sometimes it seems like evil is prevailing, and that the enemy is winning… But let us not be deceived! He may be walking around seeking ways to cause destruction, separation and death (1 Peter 5:8); BUT we serve the Creator of the universe, the Lord of lords and King of kings (Colossians 1:16). He is the One who loves us and deeply cares about the details of our lives (John 3:16; 1 John 4:8-10; Ephesians 2:4-7). There is nothing that can separate us from the immense love of God – not evil, not darkness, NOTHING (Romans 8:37-39). Our God will never stop loving us or leave us alone. He is the one that will leave the ninety-nine to find the one wandering sheep (Matthew 18:12-13).

Through grace, we have received the greatest gift – the FORGIVENESS of our sins, REDEMPTION and FREEDOM (1 John 1:9; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:13-14; John 8:36). We have been selected for the winning team! Have you accepted this Truth and are you playing on the winning side? If not, what is still holding you in bondage?

Let us be determined this week to stand firm on God’s promises and declare the following Truths over our lives:

God is good – ALWAYS! (Psalm 145:9; 1 Chronicles 16:34; Psalm 100:5; James 1:17; 2 Samuel 7:28; Psalm 34:8; Nahum 1:7; Psalm 84:11)
God is FOR us – therefore, nothing can stand against us. (Romans 8:31-39)
God will never leave nor forsake us – He is with us, ALWAYS! He will guide and direct our steps. He will whisper to our hearts whether to turn left or right. (Deuteronomy 31:8; Joshua 1:9; Psalm 23:4, 25:4-5, 32:8, 119:105; Proverbs 3:5-6, 16:9; Isaiah 30:21, 58:11; John 16:13)
We do not have to feel weary, anxious or overwhelmed – we can soar like eagles under the PROTECTION and PROVISION of our Father! (Matthew 6:26-34 & 7:9-11; Proverbs 3:5-6; 2 Corinthians 9:8; Psalm 23, 34:10, 46:1, 59:1, 91, 121, 138:7; Romans 8:32; Philippians 4:19; John 10:28-30; Isaiah 40:31)
God hears us when we cry out to Him – so let’s PRAY without ceasing! (James 1:5; Mark 11:24; Psalm 37:4, 102:17, 145:18; John 14:13; Luke 11:9-13; Jeremiah 29:12)
God is FAITHFUL – we do not have to fear anything. Ten thousand may come against us, including the devil with all his shrewd plans – YET we can stand firm on our Rock and Foundation. We can TRUST God for the outcome – He is our stronghold in our time of need. (Psalm 9:10, 18:2, 46:1-3, 62:6, 84:12, 91, 144:2; Proverbs 3:5-6; 2 Samuel 22:2; Lamentations 3:22-23; Deuteronomy 32:4; 1 Thessalonians 5:24; Romans 15:13)
Jesus is our source of life, peace and hope – we can therefore live life to the fullest. (John 8:12, 10:10, 11:25, 14, 15:5; Isaiah 61:1; Matthew 28:20)
NOTHING is impossible for our God! In and through Jesus, we have the power and strength to do whatever God calls us to do. (Luke 1:37; Matthew 19:26; Jeremiah 32:17; Matthew 17:20; Philippians 4:13; Mark 10:27; Job 42:2)

God promises us that if we seek Him first in all we do, He will draw close to us (Jeremiah 29:13; Matthew 6:33).
He will set us free – so that we can experience His grace, peace, joy and love!

Pray:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness. As we consider the epic battle between good and evil – thank You that we can be holding on to Your promises that: GOOD will prevail over EVIL; FREEDOM will prevail over BONDAGE; LOVE will prevail over HATE; and LIGHT will prevail over DARKNESS. Thank You that Your steadfast love endures forever, that Your mercies are new every morning and that You are always FAITHFUL (Lamentations 3:22-23)!  Regardless of the evil or darkness that we may face, thank You Jesus, that in and through You, we have the power to resist. Give us WISDOM to stay on the path You have set before us. Give us COURAGE to choose the winning side, even if this means living differently to the prevailing culture or what the people around us believe. Give us GRACE to TRUST You for the outcome.
