Arise and Shine…
Read:
Matthew 5:14-16 (MSG): “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven”.
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Proclaim the good news with endless energy and speak hope and life with boundless strength. As born-again believers, we have received authority to work with Jesus, as we speak words that break chains and bring peace, healing and love (Matthew 28:18-20). Let us pray with boldness, against diseases, struggles and hardships – believing that our God is in the breakthrough.
Arise and shine as the light of Jesus! May we spend so much time in the presence of God and in His Word, that our lives glow with the radiant glory of God (Exodus 34:29; Acts 2:3; 2 Cor 3: 7). Light illuminates all darkness and evil; it brings forth life, hope, joy and peace. May we as the body of Christ come together and shine like never before. Let us pray that those around us will not grab for worldly things during this time; but instead be drawn to Jesus through us, as our lights continue to shine (Matthew 5:14-16).
Run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith (Hebrews 12:1–2). Sometimes we go through seasons that feel long and never-ending, and we start to feel tired and without hope. But what great hope we have in our Lord! We don’t have to trust our own ability. We can trust Him to fill us with strength, energy, wisdom, love and mercy – enabling us to soar on wings like eagles towards the finish line (Isaiah 40:29–31; 2 Timothy 4:7).
Pray:
Lord, remind us that you are worthy of our all. There is nothing more important than You. Lord, we want to run Your race and spread Your gospel and hope, but sometimes we get tired. Thank You for reminding us that You never give up on us. You are running with us, right next to us. You are not somewhere far away; You are right here with us. Lord, sometimes we feel that the race is hard. Thank You that You do not hold this against us. Thank You that we are allowed to admit this. Thank You Holy Spirit, that You give us enough strength every day, for that day. One day at a time. (Carli)
Give us the discernment and wisdom to know when others are promoting the cause of Your Kingdom, and when they are just promoting their own kingdom. Give us the words that will lead others to You. May everything we do bring praise to Your Name. Holy Spirit, will you be the One who whispers to people’s hearts that Jesus is the only answer. Help people to understand that Jesus is the only way to the Father and that standing in relationship with the Father, we have everything we need to survive and to thrive. Jesus, we declare You are our reason for living. We pray for revival. May every person searching for answers, find You. May every person who knocks on doors, find You. May every person calling out find You. Do not let us fall into temptation but deliver us from evil. (Marike)
Lord Jesus, as children of God we stand together today. You say that where two or more are gathered in Your name, You are there; and You say that where two or more agree about a certain matter it will be so. Lord, we have read the scriptures and we know that in You, we have authority and access. So now, with that knowledge, we declare and decree in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, that this virus called Corona or COVID-19 is dead in Jesus name. It will no longer hurt, it will no longer infect, it will be stopped in the name of Jesus. (Heinz)
We ask Father, that You will come and breathe Your breath of life over Your church. We ask that our church will hear Your cry to awake and arise, so that we can take up the positions that you have destined for us for now. Thank You Jesus that I can pray this in Your mighty name. Amen. (Jackie)
Amen.
(This WRAP is with great appreciation towards Heinz, Jackie, Marike, and Carli)
