Our Lord is for us…

Read:

Psalm 91 (NIV): Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for He acknowledges My name. He will call on Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to be a people that:
SEEK to be in God’s presence more than ever before. Psalm 107 is such a precious reminder that whatever circumstance, problem, or difficulty people experience, they can turn to God and cry out to the Lord in their trouble. He delivered them (each time) from their distress! Let’s not neglect our time with God and being in His Word. Let’s remember that whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will find rest and refuge as they put their TRUST in our Heavenly Father (Psalm 91:1-2).
ASK God for His protection over ourselves and our loved ones. Let’s call out to Him! Prayer is powerful. Let’s pray like never before. Let’s give thanks, praise, and worship to God as we believe for a favourable outcome! Let’s tell others of His redemption plan, His provision and protection. He is good and faithful, and His love endures forever! We are safe and covered under the wings of His protective feathers (Psalm 91:3-4).
PROCLAIM hope and life. God promises to never leave or forsake us. To always be with us. So, we do not have to fear the terror of night, nor the arrows that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday (Psalm 91:5-6) (and may I add – the Coronavirus). Our Lord is near. He is our refuge and our fortress. Let us spread hope rather than fear, life rather than death, peace rather than panic, and kindness and care rather than despair. Let’s stay connected rather than isolated. Let’s choose love and joy rather than worry.
Have a GODLY-PERSPECTIVE! It’s so easy to focus on the storm (the virus) that is raging around us. Let us rather bring a Godly-perspective to our environment. Let us think of ways to point others to Jesus, rather than being focused on our own needs. How can we show kindness and help the elderly who are unable to get to a shop, or the person that is in self-isolation, or the self-employed family who have no income at this point? How can we look differently at the situation and truly become Jesus’ hands and feet on earth? (And as a disclaimer – please always be responsible, following government guidelines and keeping your own health as a priority.)
TRUST God to provide for and protect us and our loved ones. Psalm 91:10-11 says: “…no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways…” Let’s pray and believe very specifically for God to send His angels to protect and guard us, our loved ones, our communities, churches, leaders and countries; and for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and wisdom in all situations.
BELIEVE in God’s power and His favour upon our lives. God is for us, NOTHING can stand against us. When we love Him above all else, He will save and rescue us. He will protect us as we proclaim and glorify His name. He will answer us in our times of trouble. He will deliver us as we honour Him, and with a long life He will bless us as we put our hope in Him (Psalm 91:14-16)!

Pray:

Heavenly Father, you are such a safe and powerful place to find refuge! You are ever present in our times of trouble – more than enough and always available whenever we need You. So, we declare today that we will not be fearful even if every structure of support were to crumble away. We will not fear even when the earth quakes and shakes. For the raging roar of stormy winds and crashing waves cannot erode our faith in You. Father, we long to be in Your presence and focus our eyes on You. Please bring joy and delight to Your people as we seek You and cry out to You in our desperation. You Lord, are always with us. May this season become a testimony of Your miracle-working power! When You are with us, we are secure and have no reason to be shaken or fearful. When the nations are in uproar, YHWH Nissi – may Your banner of protection, peace and love be all around us!

Father, help us to be still in Your presence and know that You are our good, good Father!
Thank You, mighty Lord of Angel Armies that You are on our side, and that You are fighting for us. Thank You that we can surrender all our anxiety, worry and fear before Your throne of grace.

Help us, protect us and our loved ones. Holy Spirit lead us in wisdom in how to support others and stay focused in times such us this.

Father use us for Your Kingdom purposes.

May Your name be exalted among the nations! Exalted in all the earth.
Lord Almighty be with us all. We glorify Your most holy name.
Amen.
