There’s already a path to the other side……

Read:

Psalm 77:19 (AMP): “Your way [of escape for Your people] was through the sea, and Your paths through the great waters, and Your footprints were not traceable”.

Act:

God delivered the Israelites from Egyptian slavery by removing the obstacle they faced – the red sea (Exodus 14:21-31). He created an unseen, untraceable path to the other side… Sometimes we are facing a battle – a sickness, a challenging situation, an unfulfilled desire… and we find ourselves thinking; “It’s impossible – there is no way to cross this ocean or to win this battle”. But let’s remind ourselves today: God has already prepared a path to the other side: We just need to trust Him; Wait on Him; and Follow His directions!

Let us be determined this week to:

Reflect and remember all that God has done for us. God’s gracious actions in the past give us HOPE for the future. Psalm 77:11-12 so beautifully reminds us to “solemnly remember the deeds of our Lord; to wholeheartedly remember His wonders of old; to meditate on all His works; and to thoughtfully consider all His great and wondrous deeds”. That is how we build faith. It ignites trust that God has already created the way for us to get to the other side – even if we don’t see it yet.

Take the long-view – see things in perspective. Faith helps us to TRUST in God’s goodness, greatness and promises. Hebrews 11:1 teaches us that “faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see”. We so easily focus on what we see, what we experience, what we believe to be true, or even what the culture surrounding us dictates. Instead, let’s be intentional about our priorities, our perspectives and our faith. God is Good (Nahum 1:7; Psalm 34:8, 100:5, 107:1, 135:3; 1 Chronicles 16:34). He is faithful (Lamentations 3:22-23; Deuteronomy 32:4; 1 Thessalonians 5:24). He promises to never leave or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6-8; Isaiah 41:10-13). We do not have to be afraid (Deuteronomy 31:6; Isaiah 41:10-13; 1 Peter 5:7; 2 Timothy 1:7). He will help us in our hour of need (Psalm 40:17, 46:1, 115:11; Proverbs 3:5-6; Isaiah 41:10). And He will create a way – even when it seems impossible (Isaiah 43:16-19). Therefore, we can confidently stand on His Word and His promises. He has already paved the way – and we can live with HOPE and EXPECTATION that He will remove the mountains and part the sea so that we can get safely to the other side.

Pray:

Heavenly Father, thank You that You are the one who works wonders. You are the one who saves us and delivers us. You are our strength when we feel powerless. You are the one who has already created a way to the other side, even if we don’t see it. Help us to never lose faith, get discouraged, or try to solve things in our own ability. Father God, Your way is holy! Your greatness extends beyond our understanding. You make things happen! Where we see barriers, mountains or oceans, You create pathways and deliver us safely to the other side. Give us the boldness to walk and focus on the unseen paths You have already set before us! We love You and we worship You!
Amen.
