Seeking Him…
Read:
Have you ever wondered about the various ways in which we can seek the Lord?
Have you ever found yourself searching for something that seems to be missing from your life?
When this happens, we so easily look to the things of this world to fill the emptiness…
We had the privilege of hosting an online gathering and event this weekend, where we were SEEKING GOD for personal and corporate revival; together with Revive Our Hearts South Africa, and many women around the world who participated in the Revive ’19 Conference.
God promises us that if we seek Him wholeheartedly, that He will be found by us!
Act:
This week, let’s reflect on a few scriptures about SEEKING GOD:
Hosea 10:12 (NIV): “Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until He comes and showers His righteousness on you”.
1 Chronicles 22:19 (NIV): “Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God…”
Psalm 14:2 (AMP): “The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the children of men; To see if there are any who understand (act wisely), who [truly] seek after God, [longing for His wisdom and guidance]”.
Psalm 105:3-4 (AMP): “Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those who seek and require the Lord [as their most essential need] rejoice. Seek and deeply long for the Lord and His strength [His power, His might]; Seek and deeply long for His face and His presence continually”.
Hebrews 11:6 (TPT): “And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that He is real and that He rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking Him”.
Deuteronomy 4:29 (NIV): “But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul”.
Psalm 27:7-8 (NIV): “Lord, when you said to me, “Seek my face,” my inner being responded,
“I’m seeking your face with all my heart”.
Psalm 63:1 (TPT): “You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek You; I thirst for You, my whole being longs for You, in a dry and parched land where there is no water”.
Psalm 69:32 (AMP): “You who seek God [requiring Him as your greatest need], let your heart revive and live”.
It is mentioned many times in the Bible that God wants us to seek Him, search for Him and call out to Him. Let us humble ourselves before Him as we seek Him through prayer and by worshipping His holy name.
Pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You that are always with us and that You never forsake us. Lord, please help us to surrender our own plans and to seek You first for direction and clarity. Help us to treasure being in Your presence and spending time in Your Word above all. We trust You wholeheartedly. In Jesus’ Name we pray.
Amen.
