The One Worth Pursuing: When the search for answers leads us to Jesus

Let us be determined this week to:

Stop searching for a way and start pursuing the Way. The woman with the issue of blood spent years pursuing solutions. Yet healing began when she pursued Jesus. Many of us want God to explain everything before we trust Him. But faith moves differently. Faith moves toward Jesus before all the answers arrive. The Way forward is not found in knowing more. It is found in knowing Jesus more deeply.

Draw closer instead of giving up. Twelve years of disappointment could have convinced her to stop hoping. Yet disappointment did not keep her away from Jesus. It drove her toward Him. Some of us are carrying prayers that seem delayed. Promises that seem distant. Questions that remain unanswered. But do not let disappointment create distance. Let it deepen dependence. The enemy uses disappointment to create distance. Jesus uses it to draw us closer.

Reach for Jesus, not just His help. The crowd surrounded Jesus. Many were near Him physically. Only one reached for Him in faith. There is a difference between being around Jesus and pursuing Jesus. One is proximity. The other is relationship. Faith is not merely believing Jesus can help. Faith is moving close enough to touch His heart.

Allow Jesus to redefine our identity. The miracle was not complete when her body was healed. Jesus stopped. Turned. And called her forward. Then He spoke one word: “Daughter.” Before affirming her healing, He affirmed her identity. Because Jesus does not merely solve problems. He restores people. The greatest miracle is not always what Jesus changes around us. It is what He restores within us.

Stay close enough to follow. The Christian life is not built on occasional encounters. It is built on daily companionship. Daily trust. Daily surrender. Daily obedience. The goal is not simply to receive from Jesus. The goal is to walk with Jesus. When Jesus is the Way, we do not need to see the whole path. We simply need to stay close enough to follow Him.

Pray:

Lord Jesus, thank You that You are not merely One who points us toward the way.

You are the Way. You are the Truth. You are the Life. Forgive us for the times we have pursued answers more passionately than we have pursued You. Forgive us for seeking certainty more than intimacy. And forgive us for wanting a roadmap when You were offering Your presence.

Lord, draw us closer. Like the woman who pressed through the crowd to reach You, give us hearts that refuse to settle for distance. Strengthen faith where hope has grown weary. Renew trust where disappointment has lingered. And remind us that no delay, no difficulty, and no unanswered question is greater than Your power, Your wisdom, or Your love. Teach us to seek You above solutions. To desire Your heart above outcomes. And to follow You with confidence, even when we cannot see the entire path ahead.

May we walk so closely with You that fear loses its authority, confusion loses its grip, and Your peace guards our hearts.

Jesus, keep us near. Keep us listening. Keep us following. For You alone are the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

 Remember: The woman reached for the hem of Jesus’ garment because she believed He could heal her. She left transformed because she discovered He was more than her answer—He was the Way, the Truth, and the Life. So keep drawing near. Keep pursuing Jesus. Keep choosing His presence above every distraction and every fear. Because when Jesus is the Way, we do not need to see the whole path. We simply need to stay close enough to follow Him.
