When Christ Remains the Centre: Living Worthy of the Gospel in Every Season of Life

Let us be determined this week to:

Keep Christ at the centre in every season. Paul did not allow prison to become the centre. Christ remained the centre. And what remains central will ultimately shape everything else: Our thoughts, our responses, our priorities, our peace. A worthy life is not a perfect life. It is a Christ-centred life. Whether in joy or hardship, let Jesus remain enthroned.

Refuse to let circumstances define our faith. Trials may test us, but they do not have to define us. The world says: “If life is difficult, God must be distant.” But Scripture reveals the opposite: Some of God’s deepest work happens in difficult places. Sometimes God does His holiest work in the places we would have escaped from. Do not waste the season. Surrender it.

Audit our thought life carefully. Paul reminds us to think on what is true, pure, lovely, excellent, and praiseworthy. Because what fills the mind eventually shapes the life. Fear grows where lies are entertained. Peace grows where truth is welcomed. What we repeatedly meditate on eventually forms us. So this week: Reject. Realign. Reflect. Reject what is false. Realign with God’s truth. Reflect on what draws your heart closer to Jesus.

Let our lives strengthen others. Paul’s faith in suffering gave courage to other believers. And sometimes the greatest testimony is not deliverance from hardship, but faithfulness within it. People are watching how we walk through difficult seasons. May they see Christ in us.

Ask a deeper question in this season. Not only: “Lord, why am I here?” But: “Lord, how can You be glorified here?” That question changes everything. Because when Christ becomes the focus, purpose begins to emerge even in pain. And suddenly, the season becomes sacred.

Pray:

Lord Jesus, You are worthy in every season. Not only when life feels easy, but in uncertainty, in waiting, in suffering, and in change. Forgive us for the places where we have allowed circumstances to shape us more than Your truth. And today, we choose again to fix our eyes on You. Teach us to live worthy of the Gospel. Steady our hearts. Renew our minds. Strengthen our faith. And help us stand firm in the middle of whatever season we are facing.

Where fear has grown, replace it with trust. Where discouragement has settled,
restore courage. Where distraction has weakened us, draw us back to what is true, pure,
and eternal.

Lord, may Christ be exalted in us—through our attitudes, our words, our decisions, our relationships, and our responses. And may even our hardest places become holy ground where Your glory is revealed. We fix our eyes on You, Jesus—the faithful One,
the worthy One, the One who remains steadfast through every season.

Amen.

 Remember: Circumstances do not determine Christ’s worthiness. He is worthy in the waiting. Still worthy in the struggle. Still worthy in the unknown. So stand firm. Think truthfully. Walk faithfully. And let Christ remain the centre. Because when Jesus is exalted above the season, even difficult places become places of transformation, strength, and holy purpose.
