Loved First, Loved Fully, Loved Forever: The unchanging, pursuing love of God revealed in Jesus Christ

Read:

1 John 4:10 (NIV): “This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

Romans 5:8 (NIV): “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Ephesians 3:17–19 (NIV): “…that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power… to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.”

Let us be determined this week to:

Receive the love of God, not strive for it. So often we live as though God’s love must be earned. If we do better… if we pray more… if we get it right… then maybe He will draw near. But Scripture tells us something radically different: God’s love is not a response to our performance. It is the foundation of our relationship with Him. We do not work our way into His love, we just need to be still and know…

Let the love of Christ define identity. The world will try to name us by success, failure, approval, or comparison. But God calls us something deeper: Beloved. Not tolerated. Not managed. Not conditionally accepted. But fully, deeply, eternally loved in Christ. Remember: Identity is not found in what we do but in whose we are.

Allow God’s love to transform, not just comfort. The love of God does comfort us. But it also changes us. It softens what has hardened. It heals what has been wounded. It restores what has been broken. God’s love does not leave us where it finds us. It draws us closer and makes us more like Jesus.

Abide in Jesus’ love daily. Love is not just something we visit. It is where we are called to live. To remain. To dwell. To stay. Not in striving. But in relationship. A life rooted in God’s love becomes a life that reflects His heart.

Let God’s love flow through us. The love of God was never meant to stop with us. It is meant to move through us. In how we speak. In how we forgive. In how we see others. Freely we have received, so freely we give.

Pray:

Lord Jesus, thank You that love did not begin with us. It began with You. Thank You that You pursued us when we were far, met us in our brokenness, and drew us near through Your sacrifice. Forgive us for every place where we have tried to earn what You have already freely given. Teach us to receive Your love—fully, humbly, deeply. Root us in Your love. Establish us in Your truth. Let Your love heal what is wounded, restore what is weary, and soften what has grown hard.

And Lord, do not let us remain unchanged. Form us in Your love. Shape our hearts to reflect Yours. Teach us to love as You love.

Draw us closer. Keep us near. And let our lives become a testimony of the beauty of Your love at work within us.

We fix our eyes on You, Jesus—the perfect expression of the Father’s love.

 Remember: You are not striving to be loved. You are living from being loved. Loved first. Loved fully. Loved forever. So rest in God. Remain in Jesus. Be transformed by the Holy Spirit. And let His love become visible in your life.
