When His Presence is the Plan: Trusting God when we cannot see the whole path
Read:
Exodus 3:12 (NIV): “I will be with you.”
Joshua 1:9 (NIV): “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Matthew 28:20 (NIV): “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Seek God’s presence more than perfect plans. Our instinct is to ask, “Lord, show me exactly what to do.”But God often responds differently. He reminds us that the true source of peace is not knowing the future, but knowing Him. When God’s presence leads us, we do not need the whole map.
Take the next faithful step. Faith rarely reveals the entire staircase. More often, it illuminates just enough light for the step right in front of us. And that step, small as it may seem, is often where obedience begins. One step of trust. One act of surrender. One moment of faith. The path of faith is built through daily obedience.
Recognise that God meets us in ordinary places. Moses encountered God while tending sheep in the wilderness. Not in a palace. Not on a stage. But in the middle of an ordinary day. And the same is true for us. God’s presence is not reserved for extraordinary moments. He meets us in the quiet places of everyday life.
Allow God’s presence to replace our fear. Often, our deepest fear is not uncertainty. It is the fear of facing uncertainty alone. But Scripture reminds us again and again: We never walk alone. Where the presence of God goes, courage grows.
Trust that God walks ahead of us. We may not see the full picture of the future. But the One who holds it already stands there. He prepares the way. He strengthens our steps. He walks beside us. And His presence is enough.
Pray:
Faithful Father, so often we come to You asking for clarity, a roadmap, or certainty about what lies ahead. But today we thank You that Your greatest gift is not a plan, but Your presence.
Teach us to trust You more than our need to understand everything. Give us courage when the path feels uncertain. Help us take the next faithful step, knowing that the One who calls us is the One who walks with us.
Quiet our fears. Strengthen our faith. And anchor our hearts in the promise that we are never alone.
We fix our eyes on You, Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith.
Amen.
Remember: God may not always reveal the entire path, but He will always walk it with us. When His presence is the plan, we will always arrive exactly where we need to be.
