One Thing Remains…

Read:

John 1:14 (NKJV): “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Luke 2:19 (NKJV): “But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.”

Colossians 2:6 (NKJV): “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.”

Let us be determined this week to remember:

Christmas does not end at the manger, it continues in our hearts. Mary did not rush past the moment; she carried it with her. What we treasure, we take forward. What we behold at Christmas becomes what we build our lives upon.

Jesus came to dwell, not to visit. He did not arrive for a season. He came to make His home with us. The invitation remains: Not occasional devotion, but daily abiding.

Receiving Christ always calls for a response. Scripture does not say, “As you admired Christ…” It says, “As you received Him, so walk in Him.” Faith that is received must be lived.

The Prince of Peace is not confined to December. His peace walks with us into the ordinary, the uncertain, and the unseen days ahead. Remember: Peace is not found in perfect circumstances, but in a surrendered life.

The question after Christmas is not, “Did I feel something?” The question is, “Will my life now reflect that Jesus has come?” Because when Christ enters, He does not merely touch our emotions—He reorders our lives, realigns our priorities, and redirects our steps. If Jesus truly came near, then we cannot remain the same. His coming calls for an active response—faith in motion, surrender in action, and lives centred on Him.

Pray:

Lord Jesus, thank You that You came and thank You that You remain.

As the season fades, help us to carry Your presence forward. Teach us to treasure what You have revealed, and to walk daily in the life You have given.

Where we are returning to routine, anchor us in truth. Where we face uncertainty, lead us in peace. Where our hearts feel weary, renew us with hope.

Jesus, be the centre of our lives, not just at Christmas, but in every ordinary day that follows.

We receive You again and again, as the ONE thing that remains forever and ever, and that is You, Lord Jesus, our Lord and Saviour!
Amen.
