When Jesus Steps In, Light Breaks Through
Read:
John 1:4–5 (NIV): “In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
Isaiah 60:1 (NIV): “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”
John 8:12 (NIV): “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness
but will have the light of life.”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
1️⃣ Welcome His Light. Let’s allow Jesus to illuminate every hidden, weary, or uncertain place. We don’t need to outrun the darkness. We only need to invite the Light. Jesus steps into our midnight moments and turns them into morning miracles. As Corrie ten Boom said: “There is no pit so deep that God’s light is not deeper still.”
2️⃣ Walk in His Light. May we allow God’s presence to define the way we see, decide, and live. We don’t need to see the whole road, just the next lighted step. His Word is our lamp. His peace is our compass. His Spirit is our steadying hand.
3️⃣ Release His Light. May we shine in such a way that others don’t see us, but they see Jesus. May the longing of our hearts be for our lives to be a lamp of grace, a spark of hope, and a quiet but unmistakable glow of our Lord’s presence. The world doesn’t need more noise—it needs light-bearers. And that is who we are in Jesus.
So let us allow His radiance to lift us beyond what we feel and draw us deeper into who He is.
We do not rise because we imagine ourselves strong—we rise because the glory of God rests upon us. We do not shine because our circumstances are bright—we shine because Jesus, the Light of the world, lives within us. And we do not overcome darkness through any brilliance of our own—we walk in victory because the Holy Spirit Himself leads us in the Light.
Pray:
Lord Jesus, Light of the World, we pause to glorify You. Shine upon us, within us, and through us today. Dispel every shadow. Heal every hidden place. Lift every burden we cannot carry. Illuminate the steps we cannot see.
Be our warmth in the cold, our clarity in the noise, our radiance in every shadow.
Jesus, step into our midnight moments and turn them into morning miracles. Let Your glory rise upon us, rest upon us, and shine through us. Make us bearers of Your Light—steady, radiant, courageous—so that everywhere we go, others may see You, the One true Light who has overcome the darkness forever.
We worship You, we honour You, and we celebrate You—our Light, our Lord, our Saviour, our King forever.
Amen.
