Transformed Vision: Embracing God’s Perspective on Life

Read:

Psalm 42:5 (NLT): “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise Him again!”

Act:

This week, let us be determined to reflect on living with God’s perspective:

God sees the full picture while we see only a small part. Where we focus on immediate struggles or desires, God views the long-term journey, shaping us for eternity. As Thomas Merton said, “The goal of contemplative life is not to escape the world but to live deeply within it, seeing it through God’s eyes.”

God sees us with compassion, not condemnation. Though we often dwell on our flaws and mistakes, He looks at us through the lens of grace, seeing the transformation He is working in us.

God is intimately present in every moment. In a noisy world, we must pause and surrender our own desires, allowing God’s presence to lead and shape us. This surrender is an active engagement with His will.

God’s timing is always perfect. Our impatience often leads us to try to control circumstances, but when we align our perspective with His, we begin to trust His wisdom, even when His plans are different from ours.

His presence transforms our purpose. When we see life through God’s eyes, we move from merely surviving to living with divine intention, recognising that every moment has deeper meaning and purpose.

Living with God’s perspective requires us to trust, wait, and embrace the rhythms of His presence, knowing that He is guiding us each day, even when we can’t see the full picture.

Pray:

Father God, we come before You. Lord, may this word, “hope”, speak life to us. May there be hope in people’s lives, Lord, today. May they see, Lord, that You are the only way. You are the hope of this world. That hope has a Name, and that Name is—Jesus Christ our Lord. And when we put our faith in practice, may we trust and rely on You, may we hope for a better future because You are in it. Lord, I pray for our faith walks today. Help us to remain steadfast. Help us to remain hopeful, even in the most challenging seasons of our lives. May we rely on Your Word, and know that You are the hope for the future. In Jesus’ mighty Name.

Lord, thank You for taking care of me, of all of us. “You hem me in behind and before, and You lay down Your hands on me,” this is in Psalm 139:5.

Thank You for promising us a future regardless of what we have done in our past. Thank you for using us in Your great Kingdom plan.

Give us eyes to see ourselves the way You see us – forgiven, clean and Yours! Chosen to be set apart, for such a time as this. In Jesus’ name.

Lord, please open our eyes to see the world as You do. Help us embrace Your perspective in every moment and trust Your perfect plan. Amen.
