Hold, Be Still!
Read:
2 Chronicles 20:15–17 (NLT): “’Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow, march out against them. But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!’”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Listen to God’s still, small voice. Let us take time to be still before Him. In the quiet, God will reveal which battles are His to fight and which ones we are meant to release.
Discern the battles of our hearts. Not every external conflict needs our involvement. Let us ask: Is this rooted in pride, or is it a call to righteous action? May we only allow God’s truth and love to guide our response.
Trust God’s timing. When we don’t see progress, may we trust that God is working behind the scenes. Some battles are won through prayer, not action.
Rest in the peace that comes with surrendering control. True victory doesn’t come from striving in our own strength. It comes when we let go and yield to God’s power and plan.
So, this week, may we be still and know that our Lord is with us, always!
Pray:
Dear Lord Jesus, we thank You, that You are our ultimate provider and our source of everything that we could possibly ever need. And we will never ever lack anything with You. Father, I pray that we live as sons and daughters of the Most High King, whose glorious riches never run out, Father God. I thank You for Your provision over every single person, whether they need healing, whether they need financial provision, whether they need an extra measure of joy, Father God, whatever they need today, Father, that they feel they have a lack, Lord, I pray that You would fill it to overflowing with abundance.
Father, full of grace and mercy, help us to know how to fight the right way. Help us, when we are in a valley, some of us are there today, not knowing which way to turn, which way to go, should I go left, should I go right? Help us to know how to praise You in the storm, help us to rely on Your Word. Help us to praise and worship. Help us to have direct prayers. Help us to stand firm and take action according to Your will.
Dear Father God, we know, Lord, that things can become overwhelming. And Lord, Your Word has told us that we will face troubles in this world, but we can take heart because You have overcome the world. And I pray that when we are faced with seemingly impossible situations, like we’re at the end, like there’s nothing more that we can do, that Lord, we choose to remember Your Word and Your truth that we already have the victory in You, that You are our, protector and provider, and that we would choose to be still and choose to see with our spiritual eyes and hear with our spiritual ears, and know, Lord Jesus, that You are always with us, that You never leave us or forsake us, and that You are still the same miracle-working God. In the mighty Name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
