God Has Set Us Free from Ourselves
Read:
Luke 17:33 (MSG): “If you grasp and cling to life on your terms, you’ll lose it, but if you let that life go, you’ll get life on God’s terms.”
John 12:24 (ESV): “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”
Act:
This week, let us reflect on how the creation story deepens our understanding of what Jesus accomplished through Easter:
God steps into our darkness. He doesn’t need created things to bring light—He is the Light. When we let Him in, He gently illuminates our hidden places, forgives, and begins to heal our deepest wounds. What He reveals, He redeems—so that true freedom can begin.
God brings order to chaos. Just as in creation, God enters our inner chaos—separating light from darkness, truth from lies. In these quiet, sacred moments, He reshapes our hearts into peace, clarity, and wholeness.
He breathes life into us—again and again. His Spirit awakens our true identity as we let go of false expectations and control. In Him, we return to the beginning—where we are fully known, deeply loved, and forever held.
Our Heavenly Father waits with holy anticipation. God invites us to pause—not in passivity, but in trust. Waiting becomes worship as we join Him in the unfolding mystery of grace, perfectly timed and purposefully planned.
“In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.”
John 1:4
Pray:
Find Me Lord – Ted Loder
Come, find me, Lord.
Be with me exactly as I am.
Help me find me, Lord. Help me accept what I am,
so I can begin to be yours.
Make of me something small enough to snuggle,
young enough to question, simple enough to giggle,
old enough to forget, foolish enough to act for peace,
sceptical enough to doubt the sufficiency of anything but you,
and attentive enough to listen
as you call me out of the tomb of my timidity
into the chancy glory of my possibilities
and the power of your presence.
Lord, thank You for stepping into our darkness. Thank You for shining Your light on the very places we try to keep hidden. No darkness is too deep for You, and no part of our story is beyond Your reach. Thank You for setting us free from ourselves. Forgive us, Lord, for striving in our own strength—for trying to fix and hold things together on our own. Teach us to sit at Your feet, to quiet our hearts, and to truly listen. May Your Holy Spirit gently reveal the things in us that need to die, so that new life can break through.
Thank You, God, that You are not intimidated by our chaos. You step into our mess and bring beauty, order, and a foundation we can stand on. Give us the courage to stay in those tender, uncomfortable moments—the “thin” places we’d rather avoid. Help us not to run, but to lean in, to go deeper into who we truly are in You. May we discover our true identity as daughters of the Beloved, shaped by Your grace and held by Your love.
Lord, give us the courage to be still, to let go, to trust in You alone, and to rest in Your presence. May we declare with all the angels in Heaven that the God who knows all is able to do what only He can do.
Amen.
