Walking in Faith
Read:
2 Corinthians 4:16–17 (NLT): “That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!”
Genesis 50:20 (NLV): “You planned to do a bad thing to me. But God planned it for good, to make it happen that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Trust God’s purpose in our wilderness. Instead of fearing or resisting our wilderness seasons, may we embrace them as opportunities for growth. Just as God led the Israelites and sustained Jesus in the desert, He is using this time to refine us and draw us closer to Him.
Surrender to God’s refining work. The wilderness reveals what truly matters. Let us lay down old habits, fears and self-reliance and allow God to transform us from the inside out.
Seek God through prayer and His Word. When life feels dry or uncertain, prayer and Scripture anchor our faith. May we seek God daily, letting His truth guide and strengthen us.
Resist temptations and stay the course. Like Jesus in the wilderness, we will face distractions. Let us choose obedience over compromise, faith over fear.
Walk in faith with expectation. Our wilderness seasons are not the end—it’s preparation. God is working behind the scenes. His plans are good, and His presence goes with us.
“He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness… to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you” (Deuteronomy 8:15–16).
Pray:
Father, thank You for this incredible opportunity. May even this prayer be a time where we just become still before You, where we withdraw, where we set aside the to-do list, the answers, the questions, the things we need to get done, the phones, the distractions, the people around us, Lord, to focus on You in this moment. I pray that You will work in every heart to realise the importance of being with You, gaining perspective, receiving answers, and enjoying Your presence.
Lord, even when we cannot cope with life, sometimes the circumstances are not ideal, and we are shaken, hurt, confused, and fearful. But we find words in His Word with the Holy Spirit to comfort others. And we can bring hope because He gave us hope. We know that we have a great God. And if we have suffering here, we have hope, that eternal life with Him, without sorrow, without tears, and without suffering.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this wonderful reminder of Your extreme mercy and grace for our benefit, Lord. May we never take it lightly. May we lead lives worthy of every ounce of praise that You deserve.
May we not grow weary. May we be persistent in our prayers because the prayer of a righteous person has great power in its working. And to that, I say, Amen.
