Intentional, God-honouring Living

Read:

Galatians 6:7–8 (CSB): “Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a person sows he will also reap, because the one who sows to his flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.”

James 4:17 (NIV): “If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.”

Galatians 6:4–5 (MSG): “Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Discern wisely between trials that refine us and distractions that drain us. Let us recognise the challenges that strengthen our faith while steering clear of distractions that divert us from God’s purpose.

Stay anchored in God’s truth. May we intentionally resist worry and doubt by trusting in His promises and knowing that His Word is the only truth.

Guard our hearts. May we ask our Lord to help us discern between fruitless battles and focus instead on what brings peace, growth and Godly character.

Seek God’s guidance before investing time in anything misaligned with His purpose. May we allow His wisdom—not our own understanding—to direct our steps daily.

Commit to what truly matters. Let us ensure our efforts are built on God’s Kingdom rather than draining our spiritual energy.

So, this week, let us stand firm, walk in faith and live with purpose!

Pray:

Father, thank You for being the way, the truth, and the life. We are Your jars of clay set apart for sacred use to give You the glory, the praise and the honour, to see Your purposes in our lives established here on earth as it is in Heaven. Give each of us boldness, courage and strength to accomplish this in Your timing. All glory and honour to You.

Almighty God, thank You for giving us guidance. Thank You for Your Spirit. Thank You that You lead us. Thank You, Lord, that You warn us. You warn me specifically against fruitless storms. Lord, will You help each one of us to show us if we’re busy putting lots of effort into something that’s fruitless. We want to bear fruit for You. Help us, Lord. We pray it in Jesus’ Name.

Father, we come before You today. We confess our little faith and our lack of faith. We confess, Father, our doubts. But today, we say that we want to believe You. We want to fulfil Your promise. Thank You, Father. In Jesus’ Name.

Father, we thank You just for this incredible opportunity to become aware once again of how uniquely You have made each of us, how fearfully and wonderfully we are made by You. Lord, You have called us, You have destined us, You have plans for us, each of us, Lord. May we follow You in where You are calling us to. May we follow You in the good works You’ve prepared for us. May we model the same life that Jesus has modelled and walk the path He has called us to walk. And so right now, Lord, I pray that You will come and remove any pressure of competition or comparison from their lives, and also the places where they assumed and run wild with certain plans and dreams, but bring them back to what You’ve meant when You said over their lives the things You’ve called them to.

Lord, help us to understand the gravity and significance of what You have called each and every one of us to, Lord. Help us to understand and internalise the sense that, Lord, You’ve given each and every one of us a set of opportunities. You’ve endowed all of us with potential. Lord, You require us to live out that calling, Lord, and not fall short of the mark, not to miss the target in how we live our lives. Lord, but to live in the full potential that You’ve endowed us with. So I want to pray that You’d encourage each and every one of us, Lord, to live fully for You in each and every aspect of our lives. Lord, help us to understand that and help empower us through Your Spirit to do that. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
