What Is the Discerning Voice in Your Life?

Read:

John 1:4–5 (NKJV): “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

Genesis 1:2–4 (NKJV): “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good and God divided the light from the darkness.”

John 17:17 (ESV): “Sanctify them in the truth; Your Word is truth.”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Seek God’s Word above all else. May we measure every voice we hear—whether from the world, others, or ourselves—against God’s unchanging truth. May our focus be so fixed on His Word that it shapes every part of our lives, for what we dwell on ultimately defines us.

Reject all lies and empty traditions. Let us refuse to allow anything to diminish the power of God’s Word in our lives (Mark 7:13) and ask the Holy Spirit to expose anything that is not from God.

Speak light into every situation. Just as God did at creation, may we shift our focus from chaos to His presence and promises, knowing that His Word brings life and order (Genesis 1:3–4).

Guard our hearts and minds. May we always choose words that bring life, hope and renewal rather than doubt and confusion. Let us ask God to illuminate our path with His wisdom (Psalm 119:105).

Walk in obedience to the Word. Not just hearing but applying it, allowing it to shape our decisions, actions, and faith. May we be unwavering in our commitment to God’s truth, letting it be the foundation of our lives as we rely on the Holy Spirit to lead us.

Pray:

Father, thank You so much for Your Word. What a treasure! What a beautiful treasure! Thank You that we hear Your voice. Your sheep hear Your voice. Thank You for that, that we can audibly hear Your voice and thank You that we can go back to the Word, the written Word, to learn how You do things so that we can start doing them. Thank You that we can repent and go back to following Your Word. Having Your Word as a lamp to our feet and a light on our path. We praise You, in the Name of Jesus.

Oh Lord, we praise You for being our King, “Eternal, immortal, invincible,” Your Word says. To You be glory and honour forever and ever. Lord, we know that You desire all men, women, and children to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Help us as believers to live that truth and share the truth with those around us. Help us be a light in the darkness.

Father, thank You for Your Son who died on the cross. Thank You that You give us soundness and meaning to our lives. We love You, in Jesus’ Name.

Lord God, I come and thank You, Jesus, that You have empowered us, that You have given us the ability and the strength and the promise of the Holy Spirit. Lord God, I pray that You will come and awaken our hearts. Thank You, Holy Spirit, that You are present in our lives. And Lord God, I come and pray, Lord, that Your power will work completely through us in our everyday lives. Lord God, that our lives will start testifying of what You’re busy doing through us because of Your Holy Spirit.

Lord, I pray, may we all, with unveiled faces, behold You like we’ve never done before. May we see You in Your brilliance and Your glory, and may that transform our very lives, the way we think, the way we act, the way we speak. Lord, I pray that we will never be the same again because we have seen, we have tasted, and we have seen You, and You are good. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
