Our Deepest Longing
Read:
Psalm 107:9 (NKJV): “For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.”
Psalm 63:1 (AMP): “O God, You are my God; with deepest longing I will seek You; My soul [my life, my very self] thirsts for You, my flesh longs and sighs for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.”
John 4:13–14 (AMP): “Jesus answered her, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.’”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Run Toward God: May we intentionally seek our Lord with a devoted heart, letting go of distractions and sin that keep us from experiencing His true joy, peace, love, and restoration.
Acknowledge God as Our Provider: May we recognise our Lord as our ultimate source and sustainer—our Bread of Life and Living Water. He is all we will ever need, and in His boundless love, He gives Himself to us.
Rest and Trust in God’s Timing: May we find rest in God’s presence and trust His unconditional provision, knowing He meets our needs perfectly. In His presence, our deepest longings are fulfilled as He renews our minds and strengthens us to pursue His call and reflect His love to the world around us.
Pray:
O precious Lord, there is no one who can love us like You do. Please open our eyes to the sin in our lives and help us turn from it. Help us focus our priorities and thoughts on Heavenly things, and grant us the gift of grace in our lives. In Jesus’ Name, we pray.
Dear Lord Jesus, we love You, Lord. Thank You for loving us so much that You gave us grace and mercy by taking away our sins and not giving us the condemnation we deserve. Draw us closer to You. Help us let go of all the things that hold us back from falling into Your arms. Help us put all our faith, hope and trust in You and in You alone. In Jesus’ Name, I pray.
We say thank You, Lord, for teaching us that instead of searching for answers far and wide, we should always listen to Your voice and follow Your plan for us. Thank You for always being close, even though worldly things make it feel as if You are far from us.
Dear Lord, sometimes in life, we just feel so overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, joy and good things. And there’s a lot of emotion in us the whole time, but thank You for always being there for us. You are constant yesterday, today and tomorrow. You’ve called each one of us, and You’ve made us unique. You know what we are made of because You are the One that created us. We bless You, Lord. Thank You for Your love and the opportunity to know You and to connect to You.
Oh Lord, by faith, we believe You are the only One who can quench our deepest thirst. You are the only One who can satisfy our deepest longing. So, come and quench this thirst within our souls. Bread of Life, feed us until we want no more. Fill us and make us whole. Living Water, flow through us to others. You are all that we need—now and forever. You are enough, You’re always enough, You’re more than enough. Nothing else on earth will ever satisfy us. Amen.
