Reflect, Rejoice, Release, Re-align and Remain in our Lord

Read:

Psalm 143:7 (MSG): “Hurry with Your answer, God! I’m nearly at the end of my rope. Don’t turn away; don’t ignore me! That would be certain death.”

John 5:19 (AMP): “So Jesus answered them by saying, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself [of His own accord], unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever things the Father does, the Son [in His turn] also does in the same way.’”

2 Timothy 4:7 (CSB): “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

REFLECT on the Year with Gratitude and Humility. As we pause to look back on 2024, may we reflect on God’s hand in every moment. Let us deliberately celebrate the victories, learn from the challenges, and rest in God’s sovereign peace. Remember, every step of the journey – both the joyful and the difficult – has been a testament to His faithfulness.

RELEASE what Holds us Back. May we surrender our burdens, disappointments and doubts that weigh us down. In letting go, we create space for God’s renewing work in our lives. Let us trust Him to transform our struggles into stepping stones for the new season He is preparing.

REJOICE in God’s Steadfast Goodness. No matter the detours or storms we faced, let us hold tightly to the truth that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). In rejoicing, we anchor ourselves in His unwavering faithfulness and find hope even when the path ahead seems unclear.

RE-ALIGN our Hearts with God’s Guidance. Amid the noise of life, let us take time to tune into God’s voice. May we seek His heart for the coming year, allowing His wisdom to shape our decisions and direction. Remember, our Lord’s guidance brings clarity, faith and courage to navigate life’s journey.

REMAIN in God’s Presence Daily. Let us draw closer to God through prayer, worship and His Word. May we trust that we receive strength, peace and purpose in His presence. Let us invite Him to deepen His work within us, knowing that His timing is perfect, and He longs to bless us abundantly – beyond what we could ever ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

May this be a season of reflection, renewal and rejoicing as we rest in the love and faithfulness of our Lord.

Pray:

Dear Father God, we thank You that You love us, and that You care so deeply for us, and You know everything that we carry, everything that burdens us, and everything that we struggle with. You know everything about our hearts. We thank You, God, that You want a relationship with us. I pray that everybody who hears this message will come to You with all of their burdens, and one by one, step by step, they will lay them down at Your feet. And by the power of the Holy Spirit, You will transform and renew their hearts, and renew their minds, and completely change their lives, and we can have that peace and rest that You talk about in the Scripture. In the mighty name of Your Son Jesus.

Heavenly Father, thank You so much for the opportunity we have to seek You first. Thank You that we can seek You with absolute boldness because we know You take care of everything else. We pray this in Jesus’ mighty name.

Father, full of grace and mercy, we are nothing without You, Lord. And I pray, Father, that today, from this very day forward, we will work on what it truly takes to remain in You, to be close to You, closer than a brother. Without the vine, there will be no branches. There will be no fruit. There will be no pruning. And so, I pray today, Lord, that as we journey on this faith journey, You will reveal to us what needs to go, so that we can be made new in Christ Jesus.

Father, we want to thank You for this beautiful year of 2024. Lord, we even thank You for all the ups, the downs, the unexpected twists and turns, and even the spaces where it was devastating or disappointing or really, really challenging. Father, we can just write that You were faithful over each of those events and circumstances. I pray that we will continue to seek Your heart. I pray that we will continue to ask You for Your wisdom, vision, and Word for the new year. May we find that You are faithful to fulfil every promise and every life-giving truth. May we finish 2024 strong. May we transition strong and have a strong start at the new year, knowing what You are saying and calling us to. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
