Righteousness and Holiness: Living a Transformed Life!
Read:
Psalm 145:17 (KJV): “The Lord is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works.”
Ephesians 1:4 (NIV): “For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.”
Ephesians 4:22–24 (MKJV): “For you ought to put off the old man (according to your way of living before) who is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind. And you should put on the new man, who according to God was created in righteousness and true holiness.”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to commit to living a life that reflects God’s love and holiness by:
Embracing God’s gift of standing in a right relationship with Him. Through grace, we are declared righteous because of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Holiness is a daily journey of surrender, rooted in the assurance of His grace. May we remain steadfast, growing continually in faith and holiness.
Living in obedience to God’s Word: True holiness flows from a heart that delights in God’s commands. By aligning our actions with His teachings, we honour the righteousness He has bestowed upon us.
Surrendering our hearts to God’s transformative work. Holiness is not about outward appearances but about the transformation of our hearts, minds, desires and motives. Let us remain open to the Holy Spirit’s guidance, allowing Him to purify us from the inside out so that we can reflect God’s love in our relationships, always extending grace, kindness and compassion to others.
May our greatest pursuit be to glorify God, shining as children of light in a world that needs Him. May our lives reflect His character as we live set-apart lives, not by our own strength but by the righteousness of Christ within us, bringing Him honour and revealing His love.
Pray:
Dear Father, help us fix our eyes on Your righteousness. Yes, Lord, help us realise that even in the smallest decisions we make, righteousness counts and that if we could do this, Lord, Your righteousness will bring us to a place of holiness. Thank You, Lord, that we can ask this.
Abba, thank You for Your Word. It’s such a blessing to enjoy Your Word and to know that You are with us always and forever. Thank You that we can trust You. Thank You that Your Word says, “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is steadfast on You because he trusts You.” We trust You. Thank You that we can trust You with our lives and with everything that we have.
Lord, when it comes to the core of who we are, when it comes to those really meaningful questions about who am I, what am I doing here, and why am I the way that I am? Lord, we know that ultimately, it’s in the work of Christ that we find our identity. Lord, and so, thank You, Lord, that You’ve chosen us, that You love us constantly, that we don’t have to do things in our own strength, but that we’re empowered. Lord, help us today to remember that our identity is not based on anything we’ve done or anything that anyone else thinks of us, or anything in our past or in our future, but that our identity is rooted in who You are.
Jesus, thank You so much that the richness of Your Word never ceases to amaze us. I pray You will change the perspective of our hearts. Let us rely on You only, not on our own skill, not on our own ability, but on You, because God, You are the One that keeps our foundation firm. I pray that the result will be a lifestyle of unending praise, glorifying You because it’s You who deserves the praise. It’s You who put everything in place. And Father, I pray that we will have a life of overflowing praise. We praise You not because of our circumstances. We praise You because of who You are. We praise You, because Christ, You died on the cross for us to give us access to the Father. We praise You, Father, because You are love, and we praise You, Holy Spirit, because You are present. In Jesus’ beautiful Name, we pray. Amen.
