Living a God-first Life!

Read:

Proverbs 3:5–6 (AMP): “Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”

Galatians 6:4–5 (NLT): “Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct.”

Joshua 1:9 (NIV): “’Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.’”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Step boldly into God’s unique calling on our lives, even when we don’t fully understand or see His greater plan yet. May we always trust in God’s faithfulness and timing as He reveals His purpose to us. May we never cease standing firm, continually seeking His presence, and advancing His Kingdom through all we do.

Cultivate an “even if” faith – a steadfast faith that holds strong even when God’s answers differ from our expectations. It’s not about questioning God’s power but honouring His sovereignty and trusting that His plans are always for our good and His glory.

Prioritise our relationship with our Heavenly Father by grounding ourselves in His Word and holding tight to His promises. May our hope always be firmly anchored in Him alone as we seek Him first, trust in His guidance, and release our anxious striving. For as we faithfully steward all He has entrusted to us and joyfully embrace the unique journey He has designed for each of us, our Lord promises to be with us always and provide for all we need. It is then that our lives will reflect our deepest longing to seek God above all else and glorify Him in all things.

Pray:

Father, my prayer for everyone is that they just realise that so often, You call us into a calling where we don’t know where it’s heading or leading. But if we stay obedient, we stay in touch and in step with You that You will reveal, and You will use us just as You had called us to.

Dear God, please grant us the strength to stand firm in Your love and to trust in You to open up the right paths and the way for us. Lord, help us to be courageous every step of the way. It doesn’t matter how difficult the path gets; help us be courageous for You. Thank You so much for everything that You’ve done for us. Thank You for listening to our hearts and answering our prayers, not always in the way that we would like to, but You always, always come through on Your promises. Thank You that You meet us in every circumstance and that You make us strong, that You help us to decide what is wrong and what is right. But even if, even if the world comes to an end today, we will still put our devotion, trust and hope in You and in You alone. And even if something doesn’t end up the way we want to, we will still obey You and trust You. Help us to stand firm and to know that You will guide us and give us strength.

Dear Lord Jesus, I thank You so much for Your Word. Thank You that Your Word is truth, God. I thank You that You gave us this Word and this truth and the help of the Holy Spirit so that we may walk free as Your beloved in abundance. Father, I pray that You help all of us to align ourselves with Your Word and with Your Holy Spirit and that we will choose to operate in Your will and Your way and not our own. In Jesus’ mighty precious name.

Lord, we thank You that You know each of us intimately. There is not a thought or a feeling that comes into our minds and hearts that You are not aware of. Please help us to see Your presence, to enjoy it, and to seek You ever more closely so that there is no room for the enemy to sneak in and rob our joy and peace that we have in You. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
