Surrender, Trust and Lean on our Lord!

Read:

Proverbs 3:5–7 (NKJV): “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Recognise that without God, we can do nothing. Let us remember that our efforts, no matter how well planned, fall short without God’s guidance and strength. So let us acknowledge God in all areas of our lives – our decisions, relationships and plans. Let us seek Him first and invite His wisdom to bring clarity and discernment, equipping us to address challenges, act justly and compassionately, and make choices that honour Him and benefit others.

Trust the Lord with all our hearts, even when the path is unclear. This trust goes beyond our understanding, and while it doesn’t promise a life without challenges, it assures us of God’s constant presence and guidance in our lives. He knows every detail, loves us beyond measure, and His plans are always for His glory and our good, even if they differ from our own.

Rest assured that whatever storm we face, Jesus has the power to over it. Whether He calms the storm around us or within us, His peace helps us to stand firm. As we trust in His strength, may we find courage and hope, knowing that He is always with us, guiding us with His unfailing love.

Pray:

Dear Lord God Almighty, grant us the peace of Your Heavenly wisdom to discern right from wrong so that we may see things as You do. Please empower us through the work of Your Spirit to humble ourselves to Your Holy will. Lord, imprint more of Your just character on our souls. Help us love mercy and act in ways that are just and right, and treat every person in a way that honours You. May we be peacemakers who sow in peace to reap a harvest of righteousness for Your glory. May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done.

Lord, it’s so easy for us to be of little faith. We get distracted and overwhelmed so often. But we kneel here today before You and ask forgiveness for not trusting You with all our hearts, for not submitting to and obeying You in every single aspect of our lives. You are a worthy God. You are faithful and we ask You to grant us the strength to trust You boldly, to trust You even if nothing makes sense, to stand in Your authority. Help us to trust the source and not the stream.

Heavenly Father, You watch over all creation; we seek comfort in Your Promise that not a single sparrow falls to the ground outside of Your care. May we remember, as Your children, that we are held in even greater regard. Grant us the faith to trust in Your watchful presence as You guide us through every moment of every day, knowing that we are never forgotten or alone and that You will never leave us nor forsake us. In Your loving watchfulness, we find our peace.

Father, full of grace and mercy, I pray, Father God, that we will implement who You are to us in our daily lives, that we will stand firm on that when we’re challenged by people, Lord, that we stand on the rock of Jesus Christ and that we proclaim who You are, Lord, to the lost.

Precious Father, we know we can do nothing without You. Absolutely nothing! We are powerless without You. We may not understand what we’re going through. We may not know everything that’s going on, but You do. You know every situation. You know every detail. So, let us, as we go through our day today, allow You to go through us, to love through us, to be patient through us, Your grace and Your mercy through us, Lord. We don’t understand everything that’s going on, but we don’t have to. We’ve got a Creator God who knows all, who’s sovereign. You are in total control of every aspect of our lives. So, may we just lean 100% on You, and trust You to do what only You can do. It’s in Your matchless name, I pray. Amen.
