Not my Will, but Yours be Done!

Read:

John 6:38–40 (AMP): “For I have come down from Heaven, not to do My own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but that I [give new life and] raise it up at the last day. For this is My Father’s will and purpose, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him [as Savior] will have eternal life, and I will raise him up [from the dead] on the last day.”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Allow God’s will to be deeply rooted in building a vibrant, dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ. This relationship is foundational to understanding and fulfilling God’s purposes. As we grow closer to Jesus, our hearts and minds align with His, guiding us to what truly matters most. God’s will isn’t just a set of rules – it is about embracing a journey towards a profound connection with His Son, Jesus Christ, leading to the gift of eternal life.

Surrender our plans and seek God’s guidance in all things. Let us allow God to do a transformative work in us and reshape our desires, ambitions and decisions, trusting that His plans are far greater than anything we can devise on our own. By yielding to His will, we invite His wisdom to guide our path and align ourselves with His divine purpose.

Live a life of persistent prayer, unending joy and heartfelt gratitude. By giving thanks in all circumstances, we stay connected to Christ’s presence and reflect our devotion to Him. No matter our challenges or hardships, Jesus is our steadfast hope, offering strength, wisdom and blessed assurance. May we embrace God’s will and discover His peace and purpose, guided by His perfect timing.

Pray:

Lord, You know that we struggle sometimes as to what Your will for our lives is. Thank You for reminding us today that Your will is Jesus Christ. Your will is a relationship with Jesus Christ. Only in that living, vibrant relationship will we truly get to know and understand Your heart, and we’ll truly learn how to become more and more and more like You every single day. Thank You so much that You trust us with the big responsibility of reconciling others with You, Lord. Thank You so much for Your grace and love.

Our Heavenly Father, today we come in humble submission and surrender before You in the name of Your precious Son, Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Lord, we give You praise for so many things. We thank You for Your Word that teaches us how to be grateful like the Psalm writers and the New Testament writers, showing us how thankfulness and gratitude are Your will. Thank You, Lord, for teaching us. Please, Lord, stir gratitude in our hearts. Bless us with grateful hearts, and Lord, let it flow in us and through us so that the gratitude will flow out of our mouths and will touch the lives of those around us so that it will spread like a wildfire and that the praises to Your name and the adoration will continue to grow and grow, Lord, all for Your glory and Your honour.

O gracious Heavenly Father, thank You for the blessings You’ve bestowed upon us, Lord. Continue to mould us as You are the Potter and form us into the shape You want us to be.

I pray that each of us will grow to know God on a new level this season. A truly deeper level of intimacy that bears much fruit and is everlasting. That you would truly know Him, and He would truly know you because you walk with Him, talk with Him, look for Him, wait upon Him, rest in Him, and trust Him. May we all reach a new level of faith. And an abundance of hope for our futures. And not just in Heaven. But here on this earth also. Amen.
