Prayer is a Way of Life

Read:

Jeremiah 29:12 (NIV): “Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.”

Act:

Let us start today’s WRAP with the Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father in Heaven,
hallowed be Your name,
Your Kingdom come,
Your will be done,
on earth as in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the Kingdom, the power,
and the glory now and forever.
Amen.

Let us be determined this week to:

Turn to prayer as our first response in every circumstance, seeking God’s guidance, strength, and wisdom. Prayer deepens our relationship with God, helps us understand His will, and enables us to trust that He is in control. It is a place of contentment where we finally realise that we lack nothing, because we serve a faithful God.

Be grateful for the assurance that God hears and responds to our cries, even if His answers differ from our expectations. May we fully surrender to God, believing with every fibre of our beings that He is actively at work in our lives. May we trust in His overarching plan and goodness, even when His ways are beyond our understanding.

Persisted in prayer through all seasons of life – joy or sorrow, peace or turmoil. Let us set regular, non-negotiable appointments with God, who has the power to turn our deepest sorrows into joyful celebrations. He removes our burdens and fills us with hope, turning our mourning into dancing. May our lives be a continuous conversation with God, allowing His love and grace to flow through us and impact those around us.

PRAY EVEN MORE than ever before!

Pray:

The Wings of Prayer by Charles Spurgeon
Our Father, we find joy in Your presence and comfort in prayer. Thank You for answering our prayers and enriching us through them. We pray to be devoted in prayer, lifting us towards Heaven.
Forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who wrong us. Grant us peace and assurance of reconciliation through Jesus Christ. Help us live as pardoned individuals, with holy lives reflecting our faith.
We ask for the conversion of those not yet living for You, and strength for those who are. May we grow in obedience, becoming more like Christ, controlling ourselves, and living in ways that please You.
Forgive our shortcomings and help us strive for perfection. Mold us into Christ’s image, despite the world’s influences. Help us learn self-sacrifice, meekness, humility, fervour, boldness, and love from Jesus.
Bless the global Church and its mission. Convert the heathen, enlighten the misguided, and restore pure, unified Christianity. Use us according to our abilities for soul-winning. May peace and holiness reign among us.

Father, we know that we can do nothing without the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. And we are such needy people. Lord, we need You so desperately, Lord. We know that praying is talking to You, but we also know that praying is,  “A way of life.” It’s our life. We talk to You, and You talk to us through Your Word, Lord. You are so good and when You said, “Ask and you shall receive.” Ask! All ask means, is just ask. When we trust You, believe You and know that You are our Creator, our Redeemer, and our coming King, Lord. So, we lift Your name on high and worship You as we all gather together and seek Your will, Your way, and Your truth, Lord. We thank You for the privilege of being able to come to You at any time, any moment of the day. It doesn’t matter, for You never sleep nor slumber. So, Father, we just give You the praise and the glory and the honour, for You deserve it all, for we are nothing, but You are everything, and we can do nothing without You. Thank You for the cross. Thank You for the burial. Thank You for the resurrection. Thank You that Jesus is sitting at Your right hand, Father. Thank You that He’s interceding for us, that He hears our prayers and that He loves us so, so much. We cannot comprehend the love You have for us. But we believe You and trust You, and we thank You and praise You for all You are, Lord. In Jesus’ matchless name, we pray.

So Father, today we pray together with Tomas Keating:
We welcome everything that comes to us today, because we know it’s for our healing.
We welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions, persons, situations and conditions.
We let go of our desire for power and control.
We let go of our desire for affection, esteem, approval and pleasure.
We let go of our desire for survival and security.
We let go of our desire to change any situation, condition, person or ourselves.
God, we are open to Your love and presence and Your action within.
