Living a God-First, Christ-Led, Holy Spirit-Inspired Life

Ephesians 3:16-21 (NIV): “I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”

Let us be determined this week to:

Wholeheartedly pursue God above all else in our lives, seeking His Kingdom first and reflecting His grace, love and goodness in our everyday lives. May we devote ourselves to prayer, being in His presence, founded in Scripture, and maintaining a spirit of focus to pursue God with hearts full of awe. (Colossians 4:2)

Extend God’s grace and unconditional love to those around us. Following Jesus’ golden rule in Luke 6:31, treat others as we would want to be treated. May we always act with compassion, mercy and selflessness, allowing God to transform our hearts and extend His grace and mercy to others, whether they deserve it or not. Let us learn from Jesus to give selflessly and to love unconditionally.

Hold on to the fulfilment of God’s promise of His Holy Spirit. God’s Spirit empowers us to live Holy lives, endure hardships, spread the Gospel, and rely on His anointing as our Helper, Comforter and Guide, reflecting God’s glory through our faith.

Every day, repent and turn away from our old ways. We should be honest with ourselves and God, surrendering daily to His work, relying on His strength, and allowing Him to transform every part of us. This will bring us closer to a life centred on God, led by Christ, and inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Embrace the privilege of being part of God’s Church and a global community of believers. Let us always remember and share God’s immense love, as Paul described in Ephesians – a love that transcends all understanding. May we share this love with others. In times of instability and turmoil, may we always remember that Jesus can and will meet all our needs and certainly exceed all our expectations.

So, may the prayer of our hearts today be: “To You, Lord, who can do more than we can ask, imagine, or even think of, be glory forever and ever! Equip us with wisdom and courage so our lives will glorify You in all we do, and please strengthen us with Your empowering grace as we seek spiritual growth, becoming more like You each day.”

Pray:

Lord, help us regather our scattered senses to focus on Your presence and Your power moving in, around and through us this day. I pray for Your blessing, Your guidance, and the fullness of Your presence to each one.

Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of grace that You gave us undeservedly on the cross, but also every day. Thank You for setting that example and encouraging it, for turning the law on its head and saying, “Go beyond it. Go look at the person. Go love first and foremost.” And please, Lord, show us the fruit of grace through our actions, undeserved grace.

O Lord, we thank You for sending the Holy Spirit, the Helper, the Counsellor, the Comforter, and also who is our Strength. May You please fill us with Your Spirit every day of our lives and remind us, Lord, that we can depend on You, that we are not alone, and that we can count on Your leading, on Your power to do whatever You send us to do

Lord, thank You so much that You love us too much to just keep us in the same way that we are. Thank You so much for Your patience with us. Give us the courage to open our hearts to You and to say, “Lord, come, come and show me what are those things that I need to repent of.” Help us to open our hearts, Holy Spirit, so that You can work within our hearts, transforming us, changing us so that we can be more and more like You every single day. And even though it will hurt and not be easy, Lord, we want to be more and more like You. We don’t want just to become complacent. We don’t want to be comfortable. We want to be spiritually mature, Lord. So, please help us in this journey.

O Father, we thank You so much that we are chosen, that we are redeemed, that we are sealed, that we are adopted into Your family. Father, we thank You for letting us know that it’s by grace that we’ve been saved through faith and that it’s nothing of ourselves. Father, we pray that You would help us to be active in our local churches, that we would serve one another, that we would love one another, that we would look for those who are hurting, that we would serve, that we open the scriptures together. Father, we thank You for the times when we feel so weak because it’s in those times when we realise we’ve been trying to do this in our own strength, and we run to You. So, Father, we pray You would give us strength in our inner being. Father, Your love is bigger than we can even imagine, and we need Your help to understand and grasp it. Father, help us to really experience Your love, to know Your love, and to be so rooted in our identities in Christ Jesus. Father, we thank You for being part of the biggest thing happening in the world right now: Your Gospel, Your church, which goes on forever. And Lord, above everything else, we want all the glory and all the honour, and all the praise, and all the attention, and the admiration to go to You. Jesus, because You’ve brought us out of darkness into light. We were once dead, but now we’re alive. And we need Your help to live for You, shine for You, and flourish for You. Lord, help us to live for You with boldness, so that we may grow in the strength, love and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
