The Foundational Truth

Read:

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV): “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Hebrews 4:12 (KJV): “For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Luke 22:42 (NIV): “Father, if You are willing, take this cup from me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to pursue God wholeheartedly by living a life of prayer, immersing ourselves in His Word, obeying His will, allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us into His likeness and giving thanks to our Lord of lords and King and kings in every circumstance.

May we:

Express our feelings to God as honestly as we can, remembering that He knows, cares and loves us unconditionally. He meets us right where we are and gives us the power to persevere, the direction to discover hope and the comfort of knowing that He is always with us.

Experience the fullness of God’s presence as we intentionally prioritise time with our Father in Heaven, seek Him above all else and find the joyful blessings that come from living a God-first, Christ-led, Holy Spirit-inspired life!

Allow God’s Word to penetrate every aspect of our lives as we live in reverence and obedience to our Lord’s will, and let His holy Bible be our guide in life!

Turn to God, call on Him, come before Him and trust that He listens to our prayers.

So, as we journey through life, let’s never forget the incredible privilege it is to live, love and serve a God who is so faithful, loving and deserving of all our praise. May we obey Him in all we do, follow His teachings, let Him lead us on good paths that are pleasing to Him and submit our lives to be living testimonies that glorify Him and draw others closer to Him, not just now, but for generations to come.

Pray:

How long, Lord? Will You forget me forever?
How long will You hide Your face from me?
How long will I store up anxious concerns within me,
agony in my mind every day?
How long will my enemy dominate me?

Consider me and answer, Lord my God.
Restore brightness to my eyes;
otherwise, I will sleep in death.
My enemy will say, “I have triumphed over him,”
and my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.

But I have trusted in Your faithful love;
my heart will rejoice in Your deliverance.
I will sing to the Lord because He has treated me generously.
(Psalm 13)

Oh Lord, Your Word says that Your love goes through a thousand people when people love You. So, I thank You for everything in the name of Jesus.

Lord, I want to stand before You, and I want to ask, will You convince our hearts of who You are? Will You show us who You are so that we can fall before You with everything in us, in every way, in every single second of our life? We beg for that because, without the fear of the Lord, we will not have the wisdom to live this life. I pray for that in the name of Jesus Christ.

Dear Father God, I know You want to prosper and bless us in every way possible. Help us to fully put our trust in You and relinquish our will for Yours. We repent for holding onto aspects of our lives that do not align with Your character. We desire to please You by the way we love and honour people. Teach us to do this in the way we spend our time, money and talents. Help us to rejoice in You, to be constant in prayer, and to give thanks in all circumstances and make us more like Jesus. Teach us to say, “Your will be done” through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in Heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the Kingdom, O Lord,
And You are exalted as head over all.
Both riches and honour come from You,
And You reign over all.
In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand it is to make great
And to give strength to all.

“Now therefore, our God,
We thank You,
And praise Your glorious name.”
(1 Chronicles 29:11-13)

And it is in Your name, Jesus, that we pray these things. Amen.
