Our Father in Heaven, please guide our steps in 2024…
Read:
Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP): “Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Embrace and receive God’s amazing grace, His undeserved favour and blessing upon our lives, including His proclamation over us as beloved children, His protection, presence, provision, providence, peace and power. God gave us this grace out of pure love, not because He was compelled to, but because of His remarkable compassion and favour. He chose to draw us to Christ, despite our sin and unbelief, so we can be saved and delivered from judgment and given eternal life through faith.
The beauty of our salvation lies in the fact that it is not dependent on our own efforts, plans for the new year, or even our good deeds towards others. It is an undeserved, gracious gift from God. Therefore, let us glorify, worship, praise and stand in awe of God’s grace, provision and favour that is sufficient for every day. His loving kindness and mercy are more than enough; they are always available to us, regardless of the situation or what 2024 may hold for us. When we are weak and in doubt, His power is made perfect, so let us come before the throne of our Father in Heaven with boldness to adore Him, ask Him to address our needs, repent of our sins and seek His guidance and wisdom to go before us. And let us remember that as we trust our Heavenly Father with each step we take in the new year, we have the assurance that our Lord is with us always, and His plans for us are good and for His glory! (Romans 8:33-39; Ephesians 2:8-9; 2 Corinthians 12:9; Numbers 6:24-26; Matthew 6:9-13; Luke 11:2-4; Jeremiah 29:11)
So in 2024, may we commit to:
Rely on God’s guidance and favour in ALL aspects of our lives. May we daily depend on Him to provide, guide, sustain, protect, save and forgive us.
Submit to God’s will. May we position ourselves to receive God’s blessings by acknowledging His sovereignty, seeking His help in all we do and say, desiring His plans and purpose to be fulfilled, and letting go of trying to control and plan our own lives. May we allow God’s transformative work and power, through His saving grace, to align our lives with all He predestined for us. This means COMPLETE DEPENDENCE UPON OUR LORD!
Truly know our Lord! To trust God, we must know Him and acknowledge His role in our lives. He is our Father, King, the One who reigns over all the earth and creation, the all-powerful One, our source of wisdom, direction, blessing, peace, grace, goodness and mercy!
In 2024, as we live our lives in complete surrender to our Lord, allowing Him to direct our steps, He promises us fullness of life:
– To be our constant companion on the journey, always by our side, granting us a deep sense of belonging and showering us with His love and kindness;
– For His peace to fill our hearts and overwhelm us as we experience His amazing grace, unconditional love and presence; and
– For Him to save us, hold us and lead us Home!
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the Heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
Ephesians 1:3 (NIV)
Pray:
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
Amazing Grace by John Newton
May the amazing grace of our Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, and the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.
2 Corinthians 13:14 (MSG)
The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.
Now and forever.
Amen.
Numbers 6:24-26 (NIV)
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name;
Thy Kingdom come;
Thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Matthew 6:9-13 & Luke 11:2-4
