Under the Wings of our Almighty God!

Read:

John 17:14-18 (ESV): “I have given them Your Word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; Your Word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Go back to God’s Word as our foundation and only source of truth. Remember that God’s Word is as relevant today as the day our Lord inspired men to write His thoughts. Our God is great and unchanging, and His principles are timeless. He has graciously provided us with His Word, which we should read, meditate on, remember, and live out in our daily lives. May we let go of our worldly desires and seek to live our lives based on God’s Word. May the Bible be our foundation in life so that we can be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, and learn more about God’s good, acceptable and perfect will for our lives. As written in Hebrews 4:12 (AMP), “For the Word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.” In every decision we make and in everything we do, let us seek wisdom and guidance from our Lord. May our steps be directed by our relationship with Him, immersing ourselves in His Word, through prayer, and seeking others in a faith-filled community who can provide Godly counsel in our times of need. As James 1:5 (NLT) reminds us, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”

Dwell in the shelter of our most High God! Sometimes we truly need to get away from the world and concentrate solely on spending time with Jesus. Do you have a special ‘hiding place’, a place where you physically go for your quiet time with Jesus? Our ultimate ‘hiding place’, where we can find security, love and strength, is in God alone. As Psalm 91:4 (MEV) reminds us, “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall find protection; His faithfulness shall be your shield and wall.” Let us always remember that God is our refuge and protection, the One who provides stability and brings light into our hearts, our source of peace amidst life’s trials. As we journey through this world, let us hold on to the hope and assurance we have in our Lord. May we always trust Him unconditionally, be bold in our believing lives, listen carefully for His directions, and pursue Him in all we do!

May we walk through our lives knowing that Jesus came to restore what was lost due to lies and deception. May the prayer of our hearts be to pursue and remain in an intimate relationship with our Lord moment by moment, being immersed in His Word, speaking to our Creator in desperation to hear Him speaking to us – longing for His life-giving breath so that we can fully enjoy the gift of life, the goodness of God, the mercy and grace of our Lord and the life God predestined for us – now and beyond this earth!

Pray:

I submit myself. Reveal Yourself. And open my mind, Lord. Shine Your light in my heart.

Father God, be gracious to us and open our hearts and minds to see You and experience You in ways we never even thought possible, for You are the God of the impossible. Help us to be brave enough to respond, when You grace us with Your presence, Your prompts and Your Word. In Jesus’ holy name we pray.

Lord, thank You so so much that it’s not just us and our well of understanding and knowledge that we have to draw from. Lord, thank You that we can rely on You and so, thank You that we can rely on You as well for Godly wisdom. Lord, please make that wisdom our part. Lord, help us to live wisely. Help us to live and act in a manner that brings glory to You. Father, help us to search for wisdom, to pursue it every single day, Lord. So, just help us, Lord, to spend more time in Your Word, spend time in conversation with You. Lord, we pray that for all of us who lack wisdom, and I know all of us can identify with this, Lord, that You would give wisdom. In Jesus’ name, we pray.

Lord, I pray that You will encourage us to come to You in times of trouble. You say in Your Word that we should do that. Thank You that we know You provide us a shelter, a hiding place, a place where we can’t get hurt, a place that You protect. Thank You for Your wings that overshadow us. Thank You for the Lord Jesus Christ Who died for us. Thank You that we know we have the Lion of Judah on our side, and ultimately, no matter what happens to us in this world, physically or spiritually, we will be victorious and we’ll share with You Your hiding place, Your shelter forevermore. We give You all the glory and honour in our hearts. Thank You for Who You are. In Jesus’ name.

Lord, as we bow our heads in awe and amazement of Your perfect plan of redemption, we say thank You that by the blood of Jesus, we sinful human beings, can have restored intimacy with You. We say thank You. Lord, for all we have to look forward to, for eternity, we say thank You and amen. We know in Revelation 22:20-21 that He who testifies to these things, says “Surely I am coming quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
