God’s Perspective!
Read:
Act:
Let us remember that God is the creator and owner of our world. He gives us life, and He meets our every need. When we are tempted to think that we are in charge, may we humbly remember that we can’t take our next breath without Him. We are His creation, and He knows the very best way for us to live our lives. As we yield to Him, may we be intentional as His representatives in His World by:
Knowing God’s guidelines for this life. These guidelines are found in the Bible, God’s Word, and they are available to all of us. May we spend time in God’s Word daily, growing closer to Him. Through Him and the truth of His Word, we can see the world around us from His perspective – an eternal perspective, aligned with the will of our Lord.
Pray without ceasing! May we be single-minded in our focus on our Lord, and may we maintain our posture of prayer continually! Let’s ask God to bring important things to our minds, and may we pray to see the world, people and circumstances through the eyes of Jesus. Let us view and care for people from God’s perspective, allowing Him to do a mighty transformational work in us, and in the lives of our loved ones. May we always remember that apart from God, we can do NOTHING! (John 15:5)
Trust in the faithfulness of our Heavenly Father. As we encounter others who don’t know the Lord, and as we hear of calamities unfolding in the world around us, may we take courage from God’s Word. May everything we do be according to God’s will. Let’s not lean on our own ability, instead being truly dependent on the strength and guidance of our Lord. May we trust God completely in every aspect of our lives as we continue to love Him wholeheartedly. As we read from Psalm 54:4 (NIV): “Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.” Isaiah 40:29 (NIV): “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” 2 Corinthians 12:10 (NIV): ”That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
So, may we look at our days, and our time, from God’s perspective. May God, instead of ourselves, be the focus of our existence. May we seek our Lord genuinely, intentionally, and completely, trusting Him to show us His way. As we walk in His way, may we change our perspective of others – loving them and looking at them through the eyes of Jesus. May our focus be on the Word of God, prayer, our quiet time with Him, and how each of these impact those around us. May we have the right perspective… God’s perspective.
Pray:
Lord, I want to ask You to not let us lose focus. We want to focus on You! You are our God and You’re worth it! And we say that and proclaim it in the name of Jesus Christ.
Father, thank You that we can come back to You and say that over time, we often move away from what Your Word says. We move away from what we initially believed with all of our heart. Will You guide us, and will You use Your Holy Spirit to point out those aspects in our lives where we have moved away from what we initially believed and practised. We want to come back to where You want us to be in our relationship with You, so that we can be aligned with You again. From that, Lord, Your blessing flows in our lives and we serve better as beacons of light, speaking to a world that desperately needs You and Your love and mercy. I pray that in Jesus’ name.
Lord, help me to receive the grace that You are showing us. Teach us to wait patiently whilst You are transforming us.
Father God, I just thank You for who You are. You created us to be in relationship and fellowship with You. You created us to be dependent on You, and dependent on one another in the body of Christ. I thank You that the body does not function as individual pieces or parts. We function together and we all have beautiful parts to play. When we walk with You Father, there can be such beautiful, beautiful harmony. I pray that we would surrender our lives to You again today; and fully commit to being dependent on You and Your will and way in our life Jesus.
Father God, thank You so much for Your Word that is truth! Thank You that we can partner with the Holy Spirit to do Your Kingdom work here on earth. Help us to always be obedient to our unique calling. May we share our life testimony and the Word that You have placed in our hearts – to help others come to know You and to be saved with eternal life. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
