Our Walk Talks…

Read:

1 John 1:5-7 (AMP): “This is the message [of God’s promised revelation] which we have heard from Him and now announce to you, that God is Light [He is holy, His message is truthful, He is perfect in righteousness], and in Him there is no darkness at all [no sin, no wickedness, no imperfection]. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness [of sin], we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we [really] walk in the Light [that is, live each and every day in conformity with the precepts of God], as He Himself is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another [He with us, and we with Him], and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin [by erasing the stain of sin, keeping us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Shine the light of Jesus! May we think carefully about how we live and respond to others, knowing that people watch our deeds and listen to our words. The light of Christ lives in each of us as His followers. As we live in this dark world, where sin is the norm without guilt or shame, may we shine the light of Christ brightly. We have a choice regarding how we respond as things happen in and around our lives. Most importantly, we have a choice as to what happens within us. May we always remember our worth and value in the eyes of our Lord. He cares about every aspect of our lives (the smallest to the biggest). Regardless of our circumstances and the adversities that we face, may our responses be aligned with the will of our Heavenly Father, Who holds our lives in the palm of His hand. And may our behaviour always show others the way to Jesus! What a blessing it is to call ourselves children who are born from the one true Light. We can know that we carry the light of Christ inside of us! In John 1:4-5 (AMP), we learn, “In Him was life [and the power to bestow life], and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it].” Despite the darkness around us, our Lord gives us instructions on how to live and shine His light. In Romans 12:1-2 (AMP), we read, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies (dedicating all of yourselves, set apart) as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. And do not be conformed to this world (any longer with its superficial values and customs), but be transformed and progressively changed (as you mature spiritually) by the renewing of your mind (focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes), so that you may prove (for yourselves) what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect (in His plan and purpose for you).”

Evaluate our effectiveness in prioritising and displaying our salvation and relationship with our Father. Is your life a reflection of your faith and obedience to our Lord? Our lives and actions can bring others closer to God. May we find a renewed perspective on our relationship with God. We can be a testimony of God’s goodness and greatness, glorifying Him in all we do. May our posture today reflect the love of Christ and the hope that we have in Him. Let us refuse the enemy’s lies and uphold the truth so that those still bound in darkness can see Jesus’ radiant light, and accept Him as Lord and Saviour! Indeed, then our ‘walk will talk’ loudly for Jesus!

Pray:

Lord God, we believe all Your promises. Help us live in hope as we endure trials, disappointment, heartache and seasons of waiting. We believe You will keep all of Your promises. Give us the confidence to wait on You when we are unsure about the future. Help us build endurance as we continue to hope in Your promises, no matter our circumstances and no matter how tempting it may be to give up. In Jesus’ name.

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your grace upon grace in our lives. Thank You Lord that as Your disciples, we are so much more than just converts saved from hell. You are leading us into a promised land and to purposeful living. But along the way there are so many obstacles – there are so many challenges that we face. Thank You that You remind us today that Your eye is on the sparrow, and that the hairs on our head are numbered. When things happen around us, when things happen to us, we can prioritise what happens inside of us. To a certain extent, we have control over that, as it’s not our actions that shape our lives, but our reactions. We ask for Your mercy and Your grace today regarding our reactions. In the name of Jesus.

Thank You God that it is Your light that shines onto us. It’s Your Words that works in us. It is Your blood that washes us, so that we can be as white as snow. I thank You and I give You praise and glory, because You are wonderful, and You are awesome. You are the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Thank You Abba Father, for Your love and for the selflessness of Your Son Jesus Christ. Help us to be Your light in the world, and to give hope and care to all out there. May Your name be glorified through our lives, so that others can see Jesus in us. We bring You the glory and honour forever and ever.

Father God, will You be gracious to us. Help us to find a renewed and more edified worth in You. Give us a deeper understanding of the value of being in a God-fearing relationship with You – so that our lives will be transformed by You, and others will want to know and be known by You. In Jesus’ Name We Pray. Amen.
