As we celebrate our Source of Light and Life this Christmas, may we:
Fearlessly welcome God’s light and truth into our lives and boldly know He loves, understands and defends us – our High Priest, our Lord Jesus! As we stand transparent before the King of kings, may we open our hearts to God and draw near to Him without fear! Jesus longs to fulfil our every need. This Christmas, let us unwrap the gift He offers and welcome His LIGHT of LIFE and TRUTH into every area of our lives.
Place Jesus at the core of who we are, accepting our Heavenly Father’s invitation to be set apart as His children of light! Jesus’ coming changed everything in our lives – it changed who we are! In Isaiah 9:6 (NIV) we read, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Once we meet Jesus, we receive a sense of belonging and purpose – becoming part of God’s family! May we realise afresh that because of Jesus, we are loved and set apart to shine His light!
Allow God to fill us with His HOPE and JOY as we put our faith in Him! Through Jesus, we have received the promise of HOPE. Hope brings gratitude into our hearts in response to the love and grace of our Heavenly Father. HOPE is a result of our faith in God! May we ask our Lord to make Himself known to us this Christmas. May we experience His undeserved, unfading HOPE and JOY!
Instead of racing for the finish line this year, tread gently, go slowly, and seek small moments of silence before Jesus. The rest He offers is whole and complete. 2022, for many, wasn’t an easy year. May we remind ourselves today that through Jesus, we are overcomers! Let us take time to REST, be kind to ourselves, and let’s not be so busy that we miss the reason for this season. Jesus came to give us PEACE, REST, and a LIFE with Him FOREVER! May we abide in God’s love, grace, and rest, and shine Jesus’ light wherever we go.
Reflect on that Holy Night when our dear Saviour was born… Not only were the stars shining brightly, but we also received the Light of Life – the Promise of Heaven! The world was filled with darkness, but a bright ray of JOY, HOPE and LIFE appeared! May we fall to our knees and sing an anthem with the angels: “Our King is born! Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. Glory to God in the highest Heaven and peace on earth to those with whom He is well pleased!” (Luke 2:14). May we understand and celebrate the significance of this life-changing event founded in LOVE. The incarnation of God, the HOPE of this world! With His MERCY, GRACE and LOVE, He is the centre of our existence, the reason for life, deserving of power and glory, our Prince of Peace, and our HOPE and JOY forevermore! Let us lay down our lives and in grateful accord proclaim the name of our Divine Saviour. Let us praise and worship His wonderful Holy Name – the Light of Life – now and forever!
Pray:
Father, we are just so excited to celebrate the Lord Jesus and the complete work of Salvation this season. Also, every day of the year we want to welcome You to shine Your light and to sift and expose the things that we are hiding in our hearts. We want to ask You to come and do this – not to shame us, never to shame us – but to encourage us to make space and expand our capacity for more of Your presence and light, more of Your love, more of Your truth. We ask that You would do exactly that, our precious High Priest, through our precious Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name.
Father God, I thank You that you are indeed our Father, the best Father there has ever been. And by definition, we are Your children, Your sons and daughters. Help us to live as sons and daughters, secure in the knowledge that Your love is deep and wide, and nothing can separate us from it. You accept us as we are, and Your loving us is not dependent on our behaviour. You love us because You love us. Help us this Christmas to understand this truth afresh. In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Precious Father, when we consider Your names, we realise that You are all of those titles to each of us personally. We praise You that in Your unchangeable loving character, You will always be all of those qualities for each of us, both on this earth, and for eternity. As we reflect upon Christmas, may we remember that You, O LORD, sent Your beloved Son into this world to live, and die. You did this to bring us into a relationship where we could know You, and Your marvellous qualities personally. May we live forever grateful for Your many, many gifts to us. In Jesus’ precious name.
Jesus, we love You, we adore You, we worship You! Thank You for being our source of Light and Life! All glory to You, our Lord and Saviour, the LIGHT, PEACE, HOPE, JOY and LOVE of this world! In Your most precious, most beautiful, most amazing name. Amen.
