Never Give Up!
Read:
Luke 12:22-32 (ESV): And He said to His disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you. Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
Act:
Our Lord has promised to strengthen us. So, we don’t need to be anxious about our lives. We can trust Him and seek His Kingdom above all else. Let us allow Him to:
Turn our worries into worship. We are so blessed by God’s beautiful and profound message through His Word – Don’t be anxious! Do not worry! Do not fear! And yet, sometimes, this is easier said than done… Why do we hesitate to trust Him? When we trust in God’s goodness and faithfulness, we know that we are valued, we are loved, and we are God’s creation. He knows what we need even more than we do. May we seek God and His Kingdom, and focus on His perspective over our worries. Today, we can stand victorious over our worries and fears. We can find refuge in our Lord. We can submit our lives to Him, and worship our Almighty, lovingly Heavenly Father, rather than worry about yesterday, today or tomorrow. In Isaiah 46:10 (NLT), God says, “Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass…” Our Lord knows the end from the beginning, so we can trust Him and worship Him in each part of our journey.
Renew and transform us. God longs for us to thrive and grow in all He purposed for our lives. May we open our hearts for Him to transform and mature us into His image, so that we can be recognised as children of our most high God! No matter what stage of life we are in, God wants to use us mightily for His work here on earth. As we read in 2 Corinthians 4:16 (NIV), “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” Renewal and transformation require growth. To grow, we should pursue our quest to learn more about our Lord. There is always more to glean. There is always more to absorb about the majesty of God. We can spend our entire lives learning of His goodness, love, faithfulness, and plan for us, and yet there will always be more to learn. May that knowledge keep us ever reading His Holy Word, ever praying to be more like Jesus, and ever living as He calls us to live! Studying God’s Word is more about our transformation than our education. May we ask our Lord: 1) For insight to rightly divide the truth of His Word by being established in the faith and being built up in Christ; and 2) To teach us how to speak His words of truth with accuracy as we encourage others on their faith journey.
Use us for His Kingdom purpose. May we always remember that as God’s ambassadors on earth, we are truly His ‘sent’ ones. God’s love for us propels us into our calling! God is saying to us, “I AM the One that sends you!” Regardless of our age, shortcomings, or abilities, He calls each of us. When God calls us, He equips us with everything we need and qualifies us to fulfil His plan and purpose! Let us declare today: “Here I am Lord, send me!” May our lives reflect how much we love our Heavenly Father! May our boldness and courage prompt us to obediently follow where He leads us and act according to His will for our lives! Indeed, may we never give up as we seek and pursue our God above all else!
Pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You know what we need. Thank You that You are good and faithful. Thank You that You are King. Thank You that You are Shepherd. Help us Lord, to trust You with our worries and teach us to worship You instead. In Jesus’ name, I pray this.
Father, I pray that You would help us to respect Your Word, to love Your Word, and to spend time studying Your Word. May Your Holy Spirit give us insight as we do this. When we speak to people, may they understand that this is coming from the source of truth, Yourself, from Your Word. Give us insight into Your Word and forgive us when we colour what we say with a wrong division of scripture. Thank You that You love us. We pray these things in Jesus’ name.
Our Heavenly Father, today we come before You in the precious name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. You loved us so much that you gave Him to us, and You also gave us Your Holy Spirit. Father, we ask that You would renew us, that You would transform us in all stages and seasons of our lives. Help us to be transformed into the people You want us to be. Help us to be light and energy to the people around us, Your Kingdom children. We thank You Lord, and I pray that You will bless us. We thank You for the opportunity of being Your children, and for being loved. Lord, we love You. I pray this in the precious name of Jesus.
So Father, we thank You for Your great love for each person receiving this. Let them know how You love them. I pray Lord that You would do a work in our hearts – that we would be willing to follow what you tell us to do. Your Word says we should let our ‘yes’ be YES and our ‘no’ be NO. I just pray that when You are calling us, we will desire to say, ‘Yes, here I am Lord, send me.’ Thank You Father for this day, bless each person and give us the boldness to go and be a ‘sent one’! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
