God is Faithful… From the Beginning to the End!
Read:
John 1:1-5 (CJB): “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things came to be through Him, and without Him nothing made had being. In Him was life, and the life was the light of mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not suppressed it”.
Act:
Let us be determined this week to:
Remember that in the beginning, at the end, and for every day in between, our Lord has a beautiful plan and purpose for us. God reminds us about His goodness, and about our identity which is rooted in the truth of His Word. Just as all living things need the sun’s light to grow, we as followers of Christ need the Light of God to help us mature in our calling and journey of faith. Let us not forget that we were once dead in our sin, but through Jesus, we have received life. God wants to fill our lives with His love, grace, goodness and wisdom so that our lives may shine His light, according to His purposes, to illuminate all darkness!
Receive God’s love, grace, goodness and faithfulness as revealed through the truth of His Word. We also learn about the promises of God in His Word. It is these promises that bring life and hope into our lives. God’s Word is alive, active, and sharper than a two-edged sword. It’s the truth that sets us free, and it’s our guide and blueprint for living. Sadly though, many believe the Bible is outdated and irrelevant to our current day. As followers of Christ, may we stand in awe of God’s Word, knowing that we can believe and rely upon the words that have been given by a faithful, mighty God for whom nothing is impossible. As we walk by faith and not by sight, perceiving God’s miracle-working hand in our lives, may we allow His Word to saturate our hearts and direct our lives. And may we share the truth of God’s Word without ceasing, because we know that the Word of God continues to work effectively in those who believe (1 Thessalonians 2:13).
Embrace the Word of God that promises that “the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). This promise for each new day presents fresh opportunities for an outpouring of God’s love, compassion, faithfulness, and joy. The same is true as we lay our heads down with a tranquil heart each night. We can trust that our Lord, who was there in the beginning, who gave His life for the forgiveness of our sins, extends His mercy to us, and makes us dwell in the safety of His presence forever (Psalm 4:8).
We are reminded in Hebrews 13:8 (NIV): “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Because He is faithful in the beginning, in the middle, and in the end, we can live a life of trust in our Lord and Saviour, the Light of this world, Jesus Christ.
Pray:
Father God, we are so grateful that You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ, to be the light in our lives. You were not content with the chaos we were living in. You sovereignly chose to send a Light, so that You could form and fill our lives with meaningful, good things. We thank You for the gift of Jesus. Please help us to cling to Him forever. We ask this in His precious name.
Heavenly Father, we thank You that Your Word is truth. We can believe everything that You say will happen. It might look impossible to us, but with You, nothing is impossible. Thank You that we can trust Your Word, because it was given and inspired by a trustworthy God. Help us to cling to that. Lord, for those who do not have the assurance that they will see You again, I pray that they will make contact with somebody, that they will read Your Word, and that they will come to the point of belief in what Your Son has done for us. In Jesus’ name, we pray this.
Father God, thank You for this opportunity to remember Your glorious presence in our lives. Lord, we can be expectant of You. Your favour is available to all of us – we only need to ask. But we also mustn’t forget that we need to be available to You, Lord and for You, so You can use us to be miracles to others. Thank You Lord, that this can still manifest in today’s world, and it can manifest quickly, because that is who You are. This happens not because of us, but because of You, and Your will. Please, Father God, bring miracles into the lives of those here who have been praying for a miracle. Father, I ask for a breakthrough for them, and I ask for open doors.
Abba Father, thank You for the great love that You have for each of Your children. Our hearts are filled with joy to know that Your mercies are new every day. We can come to You always. Your door is never closed. As we soak in Your unfailing love, knowing the turmoil around us will not consume us, open doors for us to extend the same mercy and compassion to the world around us. Let Your light, love and peace shine through us so that others may gaze on You in their times of struggle May they see Your great love for them, Lord, and feel Your peace In Jesus’ name.
Father, there’s a song that comes to mind: “Open the eyes of my heart Lord, because I want to see You.” That is our heart’s desire today, Father, that You will open our eyes to see You. We long to see how You are working in our midst, and to see the miracles that You have already done in places that so desperately need it May we see a bright future, a future of hope, because our future is not dependent on people but on You. May we see a generation that stands on Your Word May we see young believers standing together May we see Your hand Father, in our lives every day Holy Spirit, open the eyes of our hearts, so that we may see You. Amen.
