A Heart like His!

Read:

Psalm 139: 23-24 (RSV): “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”

Act:

Let us be determined this week to:

Study and share God’s Word, remembering it is not so much about our education, but our transformation. Let us ask the Lord to refine our hearts and our lives to look more like His. As He does this, we will be His ambassadors, His anointed ones. When we stand on the truth of His Word and our lives are immersed in prayer, we show others what it means to live for God – with Him at the centre of our lives and hearts. Our awareness of God in our lives draws us closer to Him. May we ask God to open our eyes and ears so we can focus on Him, His will and His plans for us.

Remember that God’s Word tells us in Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”. May we be used by the Lord to sharpen others as their accountability partners. Let’s trust Him to show us someone with whom we can share and grow; someone with whom we can intentionally talk about personal lessons from the Lord; and pray for one another in confidence. Let us commit ourselves to teaching, fellowship, communion, and prayer – activities that provide opportunities for sharpening one another, whether individually or within a group.

Acknowledge that we could all use a good dose of Bible-saturated encouragement. May we look to God’s Word for sound counsel. May we be diligent in asking God to search our hearts and show us anything that is not from Him. May we allow Him to cleanse us from any sins. God gives us perfect gifts to protect our hearts and encourage us with hope and peace for our journey here on earth. Let’s be found reading and meditating on God’s Word daily, to uphold our hearts and anchor us in truth and wisdom. Let us delight in the love of the Lord, being steadfast and refreshed by God’s living water – His Holy Spirit. May we wholeheartedly praise God, being grateful in all things. Our God is faithful! We can trust that His peace will keep our hearts, as we pursue Him above all else.

Pray:

Heavenly Father, please fill us with the powerful life-giving breath of the Holy Spirit, so that our hearts may remain buoyant. Please help us lay aside every weight that clings to us like muddied boots, and let us run the race of perseverance that is set before us. Please let us marvel at the beauty all around us, as we gaze through a lens that magnifies Your glory and fills our hearts with gratitude and awe. Thank You that we can entrust our hearts to You for safekeeping. Thank You that You provide every good and perfect Spiritual gift we need for our hearts to remain filled with renewed encouragement and hope.

Father, we thank You for Your infinite wisdom. We thank You for providing a link to heaven as we exist on this earth. We thank You for the opportunity to sharpen and improve ourselves in every encounter on this earth. And we promise to be inclusive in our daily walk with You. In Jesus’ mighty name.

ABBA Father, You are releasing a new anointing. You are releasing something that is way beyond what we can imagine and what we can think. Your threefold cord is always the strongest cord. We choose to walk in that anointing, choose to receive that anointing. You have said that this anointing is also the anointing that You are releasing for the end time, for the winning of lost souls. So help us to get into that anointing and remind us of that.

Heavenly Father, thank You that we know that You are always at work. You have shown Yourself to be faithful. You are good! Lord, You provide for us, as Scripture says: “You’re making a way in the wilderness, You are providing streams in the wilderness”. We thank You for that, but we pray that we will be able to perceive what You are doing in our hearts. Make us sensitive to Your Spirit, and help us to see what it is that You are working out in our lives. Help us to see what You are doing and engage actively with You in that process. Our desire is to spend time with You, talk with You, pray through things and learn from You with sensitivity to Your Holy Spirit. So I pray that You would help us to behold and see what you are doing in our lives.

Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. I hallow Your name, Lord. I praise Your name. Your kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory. Forever and ever. Amen.

Amen.
